  1. Can't see why someone as savvy as Big Sam would even consider doing something like this............unless he would make about £4m or £5m by doing so. If he could, then I don't see the problem. Given deserves better than NUFC if I'm being totally honest.
  2. Just not up to it I'm afraid. Hasn't got the gumption to make it as a mediocre manager. GUILTY.
  3. On crack tbh. Why? Obviously, we do need to replace our defence, but the reality is that with Tevez in the team, the ball would spend a lot less time in our half, and thus we will score more and concede less. Assuming he becomes available, he is to good a player to pass up on even if it means not buying defenders. He would propel us to top 6, and then if we invested well in defence the following summer, we'd have a team that would be challenging for both league and cups. What if he snapped his ankle in August? Talk about putting your eggs in one basket! Would love him here but we need more than one player - as good as he is.
  4. No offence intended by the post btw. I'm sure there's loads of Leeds folk who are sound as fuck. I know you are - but I've taken some terrible stick in Leeds on loads of occasions.
  5. Feel sorry for the genuine, humble Leeds fans who've stuck by them but won't be shedding any tears like. Been to Leeds dozens of times and generally found the majority of the locals to be fucking horrible people. Maybe I've just been unlucky...
  6. TBH, just the sort of player they'll need to help establish themselves in the premiership. I can't see Sunderland going straight back down this time around. You think he's still got the legs? Nowt wrong with experience but he's going to have an awful lot of running to do next season.
  7. Lennon will go to the shit down the road. Keane has, ahem, "earmarked" him to boss his midfield next year...
  8. Just read that shite and physically shuddered.
  9. No. I honestly think they're shit from front to back. The keeper (forget is name) looks VERY ordinary. Half of the back 4 are part of the 15pt team and the other half are Man Utd reserves. (Backed up by more of the 15 pointers). Edwards looks a canny player admittedly on the right, left winger is part of the 15 pointers as is the ugly twat with the big jaw + Celtic reserve (Young, local kid, untried foreign winger and 35 yr old Yorke as back-up). Arsenal reject + 2 journeyman second tier forwards up front. The very fact they're going for automatic promotion says far more about the standard of the Championship than it does about those smelly wankers. They're one of the best of a very, very bad bunch. Seen them about 6 times this season and I've yet to be impressed by them. Having said that, I'm yet to be impressed by any team in that League this year. (Brum in the cup as a possible exception ) Sunderland's results look far more impressive than their performances this season. They need to spend at least £20m to stand a chance of staying up next year. They need at least 8 players of the required quality to make a decent fist of things. The only thing I'd say in their favour is that I think Keane is a far better manager than Roeder. He's obviously got them going and seems to set his team out well. He can obviously motivate them and has them punching above their weight and he deserves credit for that. They've scored a huge amount of goals in the last 10/15 mins of games to turn draws into wins and losses into draws this season..........which is fine - a goal's a goal whenever you score it but these fuckers are now relying on these late goals now. They won't score as many late ones next season against far superior teams. 8) Forever in our shadow. Fucking mongs.
  10. The Independent "I'm sure it doesn't keep you up at night, but how much of a regret is it that you ended your career without winning medals with Newcastle or England?" "I have no regrets whatsoever. I gave it my best shot. Perfect answer. A bloke after my own heart. Fucking legend.
  11. A lot of clubs are reducing their season ticket prices due to the unexpected windfall of the new overseas TV deal. They are passing on this stroke of luck, financially, to the loyal fans who turn up week in, week out by reducing season ticket prices. Sadly, given the perilous nature of the current finances of NUFC, I can't see Shepherd following suit.
  12. Don't mince your words so much mate. You should say what you really feel! Good to hear Dyer's agent rates him at £6M - I only rated him at £4M max. £6M though? This is how I release the anger! Not going to talk shop on here. (GM knows the score blueyes.gif)
  13. Never rated the little shit from day 1. He's no better now than the day he signed and he's certainly not worth £6m, let alone his £80k a week. Pedal the wanker to whoever is stupid enough to buy him. He flatters to deceive and cons most of his fans by running and running whilst actually producing the square root of fuck all.
  14. Cheap and nasty tat. And the strip's fucking shit too...

    Michael Chopra

Got a feeling that Chopra could well be the new Guy Whittingham.
  16. Looks decent enough from the pics but I doubt it'll be full once the novelty of a new stadium wears off. Don't know about building it on reclaimed land either. Got to be dodgy, surely?
  17. I've been saying the same all week. Both absolute garbage at SJP. Managed to drag them down to our level??
  18. Norwich have been up there in the last 15 years, and they thrashed Bayern Munich no less in europe. And with crouds of 25,000 in the championship im sure they could pull in 30,000 in the premiership. ok dhelia, now about my yorkshires, should i line thin tins with fat or oil? I use molten lard tbh. If you use veg oil they'll turn out like f****** pebbles. they don't like .........but you're right, lard is best Mine did... :'(
  19. Bolton are nothing like Wigan, they've won the fa cup four times for one thing and crucially as far as thisdiscussion matters they've got the 13th best record in top flight football which is a better record than the likes of Leeds, Blackburn, Forest, West Ham etc. they've also been in and around the premiership for 12 years, unlike wigan. All fair points. Part of my criteria for what makes a tinpot nationwide club is the matchday experience and Bolton tick every box in the "circus" category, that's my main reason. No club with cheerleaders should be in the Premiership. I'd make that an official rule btw. not a bad suggestion. the one club i totally forgot about was Southampton who had always been in the premiership since i started following football. i think it is cos they've moved to a souless out-of-town identikit stadium, the kind of thing i associate with tinpot clubs in the championship. were they still at the Dell i think i would've more readily placed them as a top flight side. another anomoly for me is Wolves. as you said about birmingham, even though theyve hardly been in the premiership they still strike me as a big club. wolves are the archetypal big championship club, always up there but never quite good enough to go up. the mackems on the other hand are the stereotypical yo-yo club, up one season, down the next. Never considered Soton, Pompey, Ipswich or Norwich as a 'top-flight' club. Just haven't got the history/ tradition and/or fanbase to warrant it. Unfashionable clubs like Preston put them to shame. The 4 mentioned have all had purple patches but nowt major. imo obviously....
