Rob Lee said it all for him tbh ROB LEE has warned that Alan Shearer will not sit on the shelf forever when it comes to waiting for the managerial post at Newcastle United. The former No 9 has maintained a dignified silence since United were relegated at Aston Villa in May, but is unlikely to be appointed under wantaway tycoon Mike Ashley. Instead, Shearer must wait to discover the identity of the club’s new owners. And it remains to be seen if the Malaysian consortium who are believed to be leading the takeover chase go along with the widely held view that Big Al is the right man for the job. However, with the sale of United taking far too long in the eyes of Toon fans, Lee fears the Magpies may lose out on Shearer. Lee, one of Shearer’s closest pals, told the Chronicle: “I think at the moment he is waiting to see what happens. “However, if it drags on for too long and somebody came in and offered a job elsewhere, he might go. “It would be tragic to see him be a success elsewhere when Newcastle had him well within their grasp. “Of course, the deal would have to be right, but at the end of the day he wants a crack at management and he would be very good at it.” it does seem strange shearer being sooo quiet. couldn't see him being so patient if he didn't know something.

yes it would.. but then again.........it was also good enough to survive in the prem.

tbf the first 3 or 4 games have little of that. they are just trying to clear the cobwebs out.

i wish people would stop agreeing with me. it doesn't feel right.

Is this a worry or nothing? Urged by who? Tbh I missed it first time, too. Ah hah. But it's bullshit, no? What 'injection of capital' would be provided by flogging either or both of these players considering the money is received in installments anyway? I don't know. It's a curious article, truth be told. Like I say above, perhaps the new buyer has said they're happy to bid £Xm but only if the likes of Martins and Coloccini are already off the books - ie not their problem. Surely they'd choose more/other players and not just those two? Surely the likes of Duff, Nolan, Xisco, Ameobi and Barton would concern them as well? got to be players others would maybe want

fibber, you've never been on common ground with NE5 it became a lot less comon when he shifted.

I love that word. Like it is such a sure thing! he played pretty much every game btw and from those he had about 4 good games? His display against Liverpool - was the worse performance have ever seen from a NUFC player... ..he doesn't have the attributes to be even considered a poor PL defender tbh let alone an average one. you haven't seen many games then.

this particular part is to do with the movement of money from and to certain countries. like most things i guess the UK has agreed to go along with this.

that could have been written 2 or 3 years ago yes that relegation 2 or 3 years ago was just awful wasn't it? can't see how our current situation resembles us 3 years ago at all, to be perfectly honest. we weren't so very far away....werent you there ? Shepherd never had much going for him but I doubt he would have dithered and fiddled all season putting his faith in blind hope that we would stay up. Ashley's lack of decisive action when it was needed cost us millions. There really is no comparison. the point sonme (including me) have tried to make is that the position he had got us in....he really couldn't have "borrowed" to get us out.. we were hocked up to the limit and still needing to borrow to survive......eventually you aren't allowed to keep on doing it. I'm well aware of all that, I was one of his biggest critics, but at the end of the day I'm also just a fan. If Ashley stays he'll run the club down and try to scrape back as much of his dough as he can. Shepherd will at least try and win promotion next season. Incidentally if Ashley wasn't such a spineless blimp he could have set his flabby jaw and invested in his club next season in an effort to get us back up. If he chooses to cut his losses and run we really are better off without him. It's a devil and deep blue sea scenario. thiose are the two seemingly possible outcomes. however this is NUFC.....anything probably will happen.
