  1. i'm not gonna kill anyone over it but i just can not understand it. (like religious belief and supporting a clubto which you have no attachment.....i don't understsnd it)
  2. The Ashley debate will be over in the next month or so (hopefully) - the fact that this shitstorm has made people organise should be the thing that matters so that in the future their can be some kind of common voice - I do think they shouldn't have even mentioned this issue in their press release but understand the desire to get people on their side. It's the big picture/future that matters. As for robbing the club of money thats BS as well - having everything ran by or tied to the club takes away the whole point - independence. For some people the Sheppard/Hall debate hasn't ended, so I doubt it. the ashley thing is all a shepherd created front to make people forget about little craigie bellamy.
  3. To be honest, if you're a fan of NUFC - with some new news story every day - do you really have time to support another team? It's a full-time job, this. hey flapjack ...your av...keepers took up a s**** position on that situation.
  4. madras

    don hutchison

never liked him but once watched him play 5-a-side at eldon square for his mates team (whislt a liverpool player) and was absolutly fantastic. sometimes sat in the stands you could almost think "whey man i'm better than that" but to watch him was to see the difference. he wasn't big headed or arrogant in anyway. if you didn't know who he was you'd just think a very talanted one of the lads.
  5. spooky. even using the term "concept"
  6. there was me thinking the "other side" would be the equivilent os stockport or rochdale. saying that i still can not understand the concept of supporting another football team.
  7. What about foreign fans who chose us when we were a good team - surely just as bad as those choosing Chelsea now? Yeah but even then we weren't hitting the top. Its just listening to American Footy podcasts. And people go "My teams are Inter and Arsenal" its like how can you do that you've picked two teams at the top of their respective leagues. If you really want to root for 2 teams, why not go Arsenal Palermo. Experience both sides of the game. yeah palermo is the other side isn't it.
  8. arsenal done in one of my bets but a spanish treble (villareal, real, barce) made up for it. santos in the process of costing me money today
  9. I guess your unaware that the Vice President (Player Recruitment) does the contracts. Also Keegan does not have the power to sign McGeady but he is responsible for the sale of Faye.` Whatever. I think it's been made more than clear by now that Keegan did absolutely NOTHING wrong and was right to walk out on the club, while Dennis Wise was recruited to single handedly cause the destruction of Newcastle United. Or something like that................. the longer this mess drags on, the less I blame Keegan for walking out. Why on earth do you think he should stick around when he's told that Denis Wise is choosing who to buy and sell ? They made him sell Milner to get money in, and didn't even let him decide who to buy with the money. I still think that Taylor and zoggy are 2 players who need to play in better teams alongside better players. Taylor will become more assured and Zoggy in particular sees things, and moves more quickly than too many of his team mates. Higher standards to reach for is what they both need. Don't agree about Taylor, but I think you might have a point regarding Zog. He overdoes the dribbling at the moment, but with so little movement around him, there aren't many options other than pass backwards or sideways. Well, time will tell. Some people think zoggy has not improved, and some people slate him for "not being committed". I couldn't disagree more. If good players are unhappy, its up to the club to make them happy. If they are unhappy with the club and want to play for "better" clubs, then my take on this is that they should not view Newcastle this way, so we should find out why the feel this way and do something about it. He's too quick for most of his team mates, both in his view of the game, and his movement of the ball. his movement of the ball and off the ball has been poor for a long time and his view ?............come off it,even when he was playing well his main problem was often dribbling up blind alleys when he had had options prior. I don't see many options for any of our midfielders tbf. There's not a load of movement in the mdfield, and less up front. Guthrie apart most of our midfielders stop running as soon as they have passed the ball, so unless you want to pass backwards, it's easy to get caught in the trap of over-dribbling. i remember saying that about butt when he first came (trying impossible passes because there was nowt else on) and latterly but i'm honest enough to say, like yesterday, when a player just has a bad game.

  11. in reality he's my 2nd cousin, or some such thing, and we've always fought over who knows the most, or in his case least, about NUFC it's genetic then
  12. you reckon he actually thought that after the entire summer of getting in players he didn't want then right at the end they'd get in players he wanted ? I haven't mentioned the players 'he' wanted. Just numbers of quality players for stregthening the squad. I assume he believed them, which is why he has been a mug. They cant be trusted and thank f*** they are going, albeit with full pockets. d'you think he's have stopped if we got in more bodies that he didn't choose then ?

"when he's told" etc ? have you any proof or were all the signings done without informing him ? you'd think if he loved the club as much as he says then he'd leave when he realises he's not getting his own way rather than timing it to cause most problems for us. because they didn't get an offer of 12m for Smith ? I don't think he "timed" anything. I love the club but I wouldn't stand for some jumped up little arsehole sticking his nose into my job. And you don't know what happened behind the scenes, I don't think for a moment that keegan politely knocked on someones door and said "ive had enough of this, I'm off" He was furious when Modric signed for Spurs. That meeting after the Chelsea game was obviouisly to tell him to wind his neck in [only those who were sucking up to Ashley and didn't want to believe what all the press reported accordingly, denied what was blatantly obvious]. Cox went a few weeks before. Now, Cox may well never have intended to stay permanently, but in my view, he is Keegans long term ally, and if the club wanted a DOF [glorified chief scout] to head up all the scouting structures and to assist in finding first team players, who is accountable to his boss, and who his boss trusts completely, they had the perfect man on the staff to do it. if that was the case why not leave when he realises it is happening which must have been when the other players were coming in. I don't know. I'm guessing he just gave it his best shot and wanted it to work but something triggered and it all ended, maybe a big row or something. Probably about Milner etc. It does fit. There is no way Keegan deliberately waited until the end of the window ? funny that you say "there is no way" yet still end it with a question mark as if you're not entirely sure yourself

Just maybe there never was a bid for Smith. I think KK was like me, in thinking we are going to get 3 or 4 bodies in on deadline day. When it didnt happen I felt it was bit flat, I am guessing as Keegan has not called me but he thought f*** this for billiards. The club have made it clear It is a fact that Kevin Keegan, as manager, had specific duties in that he was responsible for the training, coaching, selection and motivation of the team. & they also say: It is a fact that Kevin Keegan worked within that structure from 16th January 2008 until his resignation. why take him to see gomis in action ? even if they got bodies in on deadline day they wouldn't have been his so why not walk as soon as he knew this. ie when we signed the others without his knowledge ?

  18. I don't remember the players threatening to go on strike because of Lee leaving, what would have been the point if he was then managing another club? I can't remember the fans ever singing Gordon we love you which you've claimed before. I'm sure you don't, but people who supported the club at the time will. Pathetic. i was there at that time but too young to remember. however my dad and his mates in the club certainly remember lee's name being chanted after he left but not quite in the way NE5 remembers if you get my drift.
  19. Err ....... if some people can't see that we are very serious trouble of being Relegated, I really worry for their sanity. Even the bookies have us at 5-1 for the drop and they arn't often wrong. Wake up mate smell the coffee, find that A to Z of Ipswich you've got hidden away. hey ozzie...he's calling you a prostitute killer
  20. You could donate the money you spend on going to matches to UNICEF. It would probably save a dozen starving children annually. Why don't you? I already contribute to good causes in my home country. It's called NI and Income tax. They probably pay taxes too. Everyone uses money for selfish purposes. You can't fault people more for that just because they're rich. Love how you originally had a less confrontational response and deleted it becuase you felt that you had to be more hardass by the way. Curses. My country gives a lot of money to Africa, and namely Sport Aid gave money so that kids over there could attend school. It rankles a little bit when you see Nigerians waving £300 million around when hardworking British people pick up the tab for their countries woes. so basically you are saying that people from poor shouldn't be able to spend their money as they wish ? what do you think of abramovich ?
  21. I've given credit to Shepherd for what he did well and I have no problem doing that but I see where he went wrong, unlike you who seem to try and gloss over it. As for Dinnis and the others, I've replied to it, I understand that you don't think the players were after more money even though I've supplied a link which supports what I said. they threatened to go on strike because Lee going to Everton unsettled them and they were unhappy with the club. Not because of money. In the summer, some of them no doubt renewed contracts, but that is normal. Just like Owen has hasn't renewed his contract. I've never said Shepherd didn't make mistakes. But the last 15 years has been the best of the last 50. Correct or not ? And - having supported the club during a period where they were happy to go nowhere and do nothing - despite you denying that years of doing nothing and going nowhere was the result of it - you should have been capable of seeing the current regime as heading in the same direction. Which says everything about your lack of judgement and perception, but I understand you were blinded by personal hatred of the old regime for calling you nasty names and "embarrassing " you. Anyway, thats my piece again. One day you may learn something, your judgement may improve, but you probably have a fair bit to go yet. probably correct, unfortunatly we were headed back that way not necessarily, but we certainly are now. Fast. Point is, the last 15 years, raised expectations and the stadium, is the legacy. Relegation may well be Ashleys, but not the Halls and Shepherd. thats part of where we differ as i see that where we are now,and yes i do think that ashley deserves a large ammount of blame,is a continuation of the process set in motion with the appointment of souness.

  23. f***ing hell mackems.gif specialist subject august 2004 to may 2007 ?
  24. The bit in bold, liar. What I have said is that when our crowds were low they were still some of the best in the Country. 2nd request. As insisting people give adult responses to perfectly reasonable questions seems to be the order of the day. Hope you aren't avoiding this now .... "so how come we spent years in the 2nd division, selling our best players, and getting absolutely nowhere ?" i know it wasn't addressed to me but my answer is that we had a board that was too conservative (not politically though it probably was). then i'd ask "so how come we went from 3rd in the prem and getting to the second group stage of the champs lge in a good financial position to build to 13th in the prem, with masses of debt ?" because they backed their appointment ? And he made a mess of it. Not your choice, but theirs Totally different to a board NOT backing their choice of manager, and don't confuse the two. Which of these 2 approaches are now going to lead to us "doing a Leeds" and going down ? The answer is, exactly the same approach that did us in for decades previously. Thanks for answering, because I'll be surprised if mick does. BTW, as you keep wanting to talk about poor managerial appointments, how does today grab you ? i see ,so the buck stops at the manager, not those who appoint them ? you think everybody appoints winning managers all the time ? What do you think about today ? not everybody appoints winning managers all the time. not everybody from a good position appoints souness then roeder then allardyce. as for todays appointment....very short term. as i've already ststed elsewhere on here, roght now getting first team personnel fit is more important than getting in a temp manager, regardless of who it is.
  25. It was also s*** when we had players trying to pick the manager and they won, look what happened. We also had the likes of Barrowclough, Nulty, Canell and Natrass demanding more money or they would go on strike. Canell ? Natrass ? The "likes of Nattrass" was one of the best defenders and the best right back I have ever seen play for this club. And - the players had the right to go on strike just like anybody else. If anything it should tell you how strongly they felt about the situation ie losing Gordon Lee, who went to Everton, because the board didn't have the ambition that he had. Are you one of those who thinks selling MacDonald was completely responsible for our relegation despite the players supporting the manager who decided to let him go ? Oh, it was nothing to do with money. agree with quite a bit of that expect you fail to point out they forced richard dinniss on us which was an absolute disaster. the players may have had a point but their solution was a f***ing disaster yes they did. But you have to be honest, and say that, at the time, they were doing quite well and in the short term Dinnis re-united the dressing room, restored stability and is the reason why we got through the season and kept hold of the european place. Eerily, and unhappily, its a similar suggestion to the situation now that restoring Keegan would do, in the short and immediate term anyway. Dinnis was indeed out of his depth when all the dust settled. the players were buoyed in the short term by the confidence of not doing too bad at the time. the appointment of roeder permanently is a closer example.
