With the threat of prison looming over him if he remotely steps out of line, I'd say he was less likely to do something like this again than ever before (for the next 2 years at least). wasn't the point of the court cases to ascertain if those others had it coming ? Not really cos even if they did have it coming it's still against the law to assault them. The court found him guilty - not surprisingly. The judge sentenced him. He is serving his time. That's justice - like it or not. It's ran it's course so now the lynch mob should retire. no he's not. he has the talent and has done it at man city but hasn't shown it up here yet (and probably wont get the chance hopefully) Barton did put in some very good performances under Keegan tbf, and that was off the back of a broken foot injury that takes months to regain full fitness from. no he didn't...he went from shite to abysmal then by the time we played fulham(home) he'd reached average and got better thereafter. and no point was he very good though he did improve massivly in that good run we had.

Serious lack of judgement on both parties if this is true. This situation is no good or benefit to Newcastle United whatsoever. I'm sure I read somewhere that Barton was on £60k a week which is frankly disgusting for someone of limited ability and awareness. Barton is no more than a box to box drone who has neither the wit nor guile for what is required in what should be a multi-faceted midfield system to link up with the front line. Barton has flattered to deceive whenever I'm watched him and will be no great loss despite lack of numbers. Keegan needs to replace Barton with a player that reads the game going on around him and is prepared to dictate the motion of the whole attack - imho Keegan should get Bullard from Fulham. i have a certain ammount of sympathy with your initial feelings but we really could do with a player like barton circa 2005/6. he is a twat who we should get rid of but he is a much better footballer than we have seen.
