I think with formations you just have to keep one player (probably the best) back at all times, the other three going forward as needed not the best player but the best defender, i came up against some horrid players who were quality defenders. i've said it before and i'll repeat it now....the best teams have an out and out defender.

I said this before...I like Rozehnal runs forward and he has an eye for goal, I like his passing too...I think he would make a really good defensive midfielder... he started his career as a defensive midfielder, why do you suppose he moved back ? defenders naturally get more space when moving out with the ball than in the more congested midfield. Did he? He played the first half of last season in midfield because of injuries but from what I've read about him he's always been a defender. not in the czech republic, i understand he was converted to a centre half when playing in belgium.
