how ? it's on a par with taking issue with "we need wingers" type threads, pace is always brought up and i'm not sure we it's such a prime need.
-
no i'm not (or at least not on this occasion)
-
forgot about todays ref, for all it wouldn't have affected the result he was terrible, loads of shit decisions both ways, missed a blatant rozenhal handball 1st half (sorry dave if the 2nd pen was in the last 10mins as i was back in the boozer by then)and a barton scissor tackle that was a booking all day.
-
watch hleb, rosicky, they aren't quick...all technique...clichy and eboue have fantastic footy nouse. no real pace. in the arsenal squad only walcott has real pace.
-
just fucking wanking ?
-
right now my line up is (if givens out).......... harper beye faye cacapa enrique milner geremi barton n'zogbia viduka owen (martins if viduka out) and fuck off with trying to keep a clean sheet and nick one....GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!
-
...is it really that necessary ? a lot of folk on here when posting about players or styles of player they want brought in mention pace first. it's nice, always handy to have but for me will always be a third requisite behind technique and a football brain. thinking of arsenal, they don't have a lot of pace but have my first two requirements in abundance.

emre normally plays well when he comes back then plays poor when he gets a run
-
shite today but just back from a long injury in a team that was collectivly shit.
-
sunderland are always more up for it than we are, maybe we need this ?

well fuck me, that was frightful and for the first time since we were 4 down to spurs 75ish i left early. where did it got wrong, i'm claiming again, like i have on the majority of our dropped points this season at the feet of our manager. we heard on the way to the ground that milner would play left and n'zogbia right, an argument could be made in favour of this if we had no presence up front and needed our wide men not to go wide and need to keep the ball down ie if playing owen/martins up front, but no, we have alan smith up front to have a physical presence......well why wait till over an hour to get milner/n'zogbia in their proper positions. in a lot of peoples team predictions rozenhal got a place due to portsmouth not playing up and scrap'em style football and needing someone with a bit pace and quick reading....obviously passed by some members of our coaching/managing staff. that's now boro, derby, reading, citeh and today where i question the tactics and blame them for lost points. 5 games out of 11 where i blame the manager aint good.

How long ago was that? Proper dreby as Souness would say. Either could have won it. Both reserve sides would give either of those first teams a run for their money nowadays. = both s*** sides. Very volatile atmosphere. Glad those days are gone tbh. Better atmosphere then, no petrol bombs now! Always remember Forest in 79 up here, worst violence during a game i have witnessed first hand (close up, i mean) and it was in the paddock( East stand where they sometimes put the away fans for some resson). Bloody horrific. Sure there has been worse - there was some shocking stuff from a distance i have seen in the early 70s in the Gallowgate and Leazes. Anyway, awful day and even worse than anything like they felt when we hammered them two seasons ago, no idea why I say thay but sure it was harsher then. Maybe I'm just being a bitter old t***. different world then, when we first got relegated the sheff wed and leeds game were always quite nasty. i think the forest game you mentioned was the first time we'd played them since the 74' riot and there was a good bit ill feeling. didn't help they were on their way to the championship and we were going down but we played well....down there were murdered them and got beat.
-
they have been for 22 years (working on the idea that teams are "due" a win after not getting one for 5 years.) Didn't they beat us in a pre season friendly at Roker, with Allardyce scoring the winner? Or am I imagining things? can't remember. i did go to a friendly at joker park about 1980, think it was 0-0 but to be honest i was just crowd watching.
-
How long ago was that? 78 i think, gary rowell hat trick, john conelly header for us.my first ever derby hence my hatred of derbies.

yip and the straight knock out format aswell. i'm all for getting rid of the seeding system aswell, if ac milan draw real madrid in the first round then tough shit.
-
aye and getting beat at home off brighton (who wore pink/white striped shorts) the season we nearly went down...i honestly thought we were down then.
-
Striking similarities between the two - both media whores who would turn up to the opening of an envelope so long as there's a red carpet and Heat photographers around, both of them cockney wankers, with unjustifiably high opinions of their own self-worth and brazenly raping the wallets of the people who pay to watch them. but john terrys employers would probably be worse off without him, could you say the same of woss's ?
-
john terry is on a reported £150,000p/w which is disgraceful, but not as disgraceful as jonathan ross's £115,000p/w.

And that building on Westgate Road, I believe. they were eyesores and empty though.

Really? Remember Everton being allowed only one attempt on goal all game (the second goal was of course a fluke). Remember Wigan not once testing Shay. Remember Tottenham having one other opportunity apart from their goal which could be classed as a good opportunity. Remember West Ham, apart from a brief period in the first half, not being allowed within a 20 yard raduis of our goal. Our defensive performances at home this year have been nothing short of superb when comparing them to previous seasons. There have been times in a few of those games where we've been under pressure and the defence hasn't folded. The only problem I can see with our performances at home is that we lack that ability to retain possesion when we really need to, which in my opinion is the midfields fault. true..................so absolutly very true.

i would go................... given beye rozenhal cacapa enrique geremi butt barton n'zogbia martins owen but feel allardyce will go............... given beye faye cacapa enrique geremi butt barton milner smith owen. 1-0 owen
