Luque had some fans. And some ability... The ability to earn £50k a week with no ability is an ability imo. mackems.gif the ne5 smiley sums it up

whats pissing people off is that we have a squad much better than the performances given.
-
that i'll agree with

lots were saying before the game to play rozenhal as pompey dont play up and at em. then after we were 3 down we never looked like getting into it (milner n'zogbia switch after 60 mins)...did martins come on at half time ? did allardyce think at half time that his starting team (give roz for cacapa) would get us back in to it ? It's all ifs and buts though. On another day Cacapa would have dealt with goal 2 and 3 easily (i.e just cleared them both), and we wouldn't even be having this discussion. As for Martins, he did f*** all when he came on anyway (even if you can argue that he should have been on earlier), so I'm not sure what your argument is. my point is and i'll spell it out clearly for you......do you think, being 3-1 down at half time and showing little like getting back into it that we should keep the same 11(given roz for cacapa)?

but............" it's the end of the world as we know it"

Everyone has said that. You're right, i mis-read it. Ref was awful though. we know already
-
Everyone has said that. i think i was the first to say that

after a hard night i played wide right (all left foot), we also had a reputation for never getting a oint for kick off before 10am(about 15years at eldon square)

played decent quality for 15 years and the best teams have a definite defender.

So what? Jesus christ, at the moment thats the worst thing I can see happening this season. If theres one thing I cant stand its losing to those c***s. Sort yourself out man. I don't harbour hatred towards Sunderland club or supporters as others do. i do and some of my best mates are mackems

Whichever charva was sitting next to me actually laid the blame squarely at the door of the referee. If I hadn't been furious at the time I'd probably have laughed. on this thread the slagging off of the ref was qualified by sayong it had sod all to do with the result and he was equally shit both ways..........which is probably wrong as he gave the bigger decisions against portsmouth

and i'm saying it's not the be all and blah blah as a lot of people think Nobody has said it'd the be all, they've said it's an important asset that a team needs along with players with good technique. and my point is that some players eg arsenals, appear quicker due to technique and nouse (as i have given rosicky, hleb) than true pace. And they also have players at fullback who are some of the fastest about because of the way they set up. As I said, they have a mixture of both, at the same time they don't have anyone slow either. What point are you trying to make? They may not have attacking players with the pace of Bellamy or Martins but they don't have players with no pace either, all of their attacking players are good athletes. first off being a good athlete doen't mean you're quick, secand as i've pointed out last seasons slow pokes are now quick (hleb rosicky...i'll even throw eboue in there) do you think they have got physically quicker ? Eboue slow?! He's one of the quickest around. Other players use technique to beat a man but that doesn't mean you don't need pace in a side and to say it isn't important is rubbish, watch how Arsenal set up, they encourage their wide men to come in field so it gives their ridiculously fast fullbacks the opportunity to overlap and get in behind the opposition. Again, what point are you making? Do you even have a point? yet last season eboue wasn't one of the quickest around, has he got physically quicker ? or is it the style they play makes them appear quicker ? teams with moderate pace can attack and defend at pace due to nouse (arsenal) but teams filled with pace and no nouse will always fail. baggio you are on here often enough to know about how many when asked what we want in the transfer window etc want PACE.

isn't viduka inviting the long ball? If he is then the manager is at fault. With the ball at his feet, Viduka is the most talented member of our squad by an absolute mile. He's not the one saying "lump it lads!". put it to his chest aswell as his feet, just dont aim the ball at his head when he's outside the box

how ? it's on a par with taking issue with "we need wingers" type threads, pace is always brought up and i'm not sure we it's such a prime need. because one thing pace does is stretch teams and create openings. Every top team has a combination of fast players and smart players who know how to utilize that pace. Even when dyer came back he made us a much better team simply because he could run at/past defenders. The way sam seems to be setting up, everything is being played in front of the opposition defence, and its f****** boring and unproductive. you post it yourself and that has nowt to do with pace
-
johnnypd--out of those you listed i would only class walcott as "fast" the others whislst not being slow use football nouse to be first. for example rosicky hasn't gained pace since last season but he is now attuned to the prem league same with hleb who looks 2 yards quicker without actually being so.
