  1. Really don't get the hate for this bloke, if it's based on last season then each player (bar Janmaat and perez) should have their own threads full of hate. His is a position, our so called defensive midfiled, I'd be looking to fill after a centre half and before another forward, but, with a differing style of play and better options to pass to, a forward who can hold the ball up, it's quite possible we could see a better season from him. and I'd have him in before Anita, for me, Anita can only play in a 3 man midfield.
  2. From a song point of view n'jie would be a brilliant signing.

If paying tax was the only qualification for a visa the country would be flooded like. I think they'll get him the visa with an 'exceptional talent' appeal or whatever you call that given his age. Which one ?

    Steve McClaren

Every football hipster I've ever known has been either a terrible footballer, generally crap at sport/exercise or desperate for attention... so they spend their time watching grainy streams of Lokomotiv Mezra in the Bulgarian third division whilst scribbling notes about how Boris the fullback doesn't track the wing-deployed right central inside shuttler through the transitional phase decoy in the 2nd third build play. Mezdra.

Less sell on value (this is NUFC)
  8. I thought his agent was Pini Zahavi who is as rich as agents get. I always think this about agents. If an agent gets a percentage, how many players does he have to move to earn more than a footballer in that year? I bet it's not that many. Some will even get a percentage of the contract rather than a one off fee. I'm sure whoever brokers the massive moves will be earning more in that one deal than the player will in a year. Of course they get a percentage of the contract as they are employed by the player, they'll also get a cut of sponsorships, endorsments etc. Could one not just do without an agent? Honest question as I don't really know what they do except negotiate salary and stuff. They can have the PFA negotiate for them. James Milner used to do that but he probably has an agent now. Chris Sutton had the PFA as his agent, at least for his move from Norwich.

    Rolando Aarons

Should not even be in question surely? He'd be my first name on the teamsheet like was that deliberate ?

Right now, looking at what we have, he's a starter.

Not on twitter, is that accepts new deal, offered new deal, club ponders new deal ? Would be like a new signing to tie this lad down (fnarr fnarr).

if he does turn out to be fantastic will he get miffed if the club doesn't get him a cake on each of his four birthdays ? Could Hatem have had multiple birthdays aswell, could this explain the weight ?

They will rule that he is aged 20, born in 1990 and will host the world cup in 2026.

Aye I agree but preferably you would have another 6'2+ centre half who also has those positioning and leaping skills. You definitely need at least one, probably two at least 6'2 players in your team or you'll concede a lot from set pieces. You are going to meet defenders and strikers that are massive and know how to use their strength and height effectively and you need someone big enough to at least put them off when they go for a header Shearer, at 6ft scored most of his headers for us from set pieces, against those 6'2 and 6'3 defenders. I buy these "we need 6'2 centre halves" as much as I buy the "we need wingers" argument.

    Charlie Austin

Aye, if we had 30m more to spend then I'd be all for it but if we are going to spend another 10m or above on a player I'd prefer it to be a centre half or winger Centre half and central midfielder who can do the dirty work aswell, can't see us playing 4-4-2 so in Perez, Sissoko, Cabella and Aarons we have enough, of sufficient quality for a forward 3 or the 3 or 2 in those other formations.

13million squad addition with little re sale value, so many of Ashleys sacred cows being slaughtered there, think we need Ashley DNA'd not Mbemba.

That's my concern, even if you wanted to play 2 upfront it would seem to me that they don't exactly compliment each other. Would make sense to sign a mobile forward with pace if you want to pair someone with Mitrovic. Having said that i really doubt we'll play with 2 upfront, there's just far too many midfield options for me to think it would happen. Could we be developing a squad (pronounced skwod), when I was younger we had one of those, it's like having spares in case of injuries and stuff. (edit, that sounds reet arsey sarcy don't it, it's not supposed to)

They don't exactly seem a complimentary pairing, if we get Austin that is.

I championed Mbiwa from his Montpellier days but the more I saw of him here the less I thought he'd adapt to the premier league. Should have been told he'd get that entire half season, good or bad, after Cabaye left and we weren't playing for anything, to find out for definite.
  21. Better than Ferdinand, Ginola, Albert..................................barton. That was an eternity ago. Another lifetime and a different football club. 20 years man far longer than the range I'm talking about :lol: So long ago I merged windows!

  23. Am I the only one to think that Shaqiri is a lot more exciting than he is effective ?
  24. Re De Jong-Cabella as a no 10. De Jong makes less but better movement and is a much better finisher. The Shaqiri link is interesting, so much so it could change us from the predicted 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-2-1.
  25. The no.6 and no.4 are okay in either position IMO Liverpool's Ray Kennedy, centre midfiled "5", Steve Heighway left wing "9" and John Toshack centre forward "11", and some little bloke up front "7" another reason I started to hate them early!
