Obscure players past and present you really dislike
madras replied to Super Duper Branko Strupar's topic in Football
sure he's been on MotD recently. -
It was a cracking cross, like. Such a simple goal. Glad he's off the mark. He's been atrocious all night aside from that, but if he's sticking it in the net it's not really a bother - so long as everyone else is playing well. Oh definitely but I didn't see anyone embrace Cisse in celebration was all. He really has been terrible apart from the goal, he has a long way to go before I regain any sort of faith in him. maybe they didn't know he was onside. (see what I did there)

Vic Halom Paul Sweeney Mel Sterland Gordon Armstrong loathe and detest John Aldridge but he's not really obscure. -
semen knocked out earlier on today.
-
looked like no-one went to him after scoring. maybe just the way it looked on TV.
-
please don't expect a pass we only want to punt.

Still not convinced Swansea are this special side everyone thinks, Everton have been patchy so far as well, think us and Everton could be the ones though. You've watched Swansea right? It's not a new thing, been a great side to watch for a while. Also Everton are the only unbeaten side this season. Obviously, being a great side to watch doesn't put points on the board though. Last season was an unacceptable, abhorrent mess as far as Newcastle fans were concerned and an historic peak for Swansea but we only finished 5 points off them. Last time I'm gonna do it. They WON A CUP so did wigan, what's your point ?

re the adrian durham article......... what a load of drivel. if you are at work and are told, with no good reason, who you can and can't talk to, then told by your manager, in public, how crap you are at your job you will kick off. it didn't seem like a "strict disciplinarian regime" as much as a dictatorship with little reasoning behind some of the arbitrary decisions.

As a long-term appointment, aye. As a short term way to avoid relegation and keep them on the PL gravy train, he did enough to keep the club solvent. it worked, doesn't mean it was a good appointemnt. many could have kept them up without the wreckage it caused, then and now. IMO of course.

will any manager be able to make something from the hotch potch players di canio has left them with (interesting to see on RTG much blame for the hierarchy at SAFC who sold the better players and bought rubbish.............not di canio doing though ?), will Short fund another overhaul of playing staff ?
-
they just couldn't bloody wait could they. selfish bastards!
-
As pointed out yesterday by a mackem at work, even changing the manager won't change things much as the players just aren't good enough. Fair play to him as he didn't think di canio was good enough to start with.

Pardew was saying just yesterday that we have more or less everyone fit for this weekend, he didn't mention any problems with Remy. commentary at the start of the villa match said we expected remy to only last an hour or so.

yung lee clark ?

now that, hopefully, ben arfa gets a run in that position further up, it'll make sense to compare to him to a walcott and then see as opposed to comparing them when one is up front and one is wide in a middle 4.
-
That will be forever empty. Unless of course, they're playing us.
-
I agree about great goals (bernard v chelsea) but you regularly see less spectacular but imo better team goals bypassed becuase it wasn't 26yd smash.
-
it's a regular thing I hear though, people only look for ther eye catching, the other stuff often is missed. watch goal of the month, often just shots smashed in from 20yds as opposed to well worked team goals that end in an 8yd tap in.
-
looking that way, however that has been said of many kids who never fulfilled throughout the years
-
also, our best player in the previous two games.
-
not mocking it for being poor but for not even being able to make anything of itself even in a small way. Newcastle is working class, Sunderland is charva town.
-
always available to receive the ball, constant movement, won the ball for opening goal yesterday, rarely gives it away, keeps tempo moving. very much the modern necessary but unspectacular midfielder. edit, does make penetrative passes aswell, not his fault if others can't profit from them.
-
fairly sure I saw it in paper form from one of those new fangled copier things in the 80's.

It's much worse than that mate. Communist Eastern Europe had well educated and healthy people. and some nice places, prague, talinn, krakow. sunderland has no redeeming features.
