  1. taking the football aspect out of it, as a tax payer it leaves a bad taste that the government will use taxpayers money (60million i think, without what the council and boris are putting in which will come from taxes aswell) whenWest Ham will get a windfall from the sale of upton park. more government utter fuckwittery.
  2. how far is the olympic stadium form upton park ?
  3. i wouldn't call Paul Peschisolido a world class player. Nope, considering she sold her own husband to another club i was just being smutty.
  4. i wouldn't call Paul Peschisolido a world class player.
  5. what pissed me off with his clearance that hurt him was that loads of people said how good it was, so skillfull etc.....what he actually done was played the ball blindly to the edge of our box which they picked up,in a lot more dangerous position than just putting it out for a throw or just trying to wellie it up the line.
  6. 2million a year rent seems like fuck all if they own their ground already and can sell that. seems like a new ground for fuck all.

I always liked jimmy hill, now i love him.
  8. always thought ours was more to do with 1985. Beardsley's hat-trick, rather than fighting. Im fairly sure it was sung before '85. I thought it was about the derbies in late 70s, or the 3-1 home win nyd in '80. aye, pretty sure it refers to the 1980 derby in our case.
  9. summer 2016 according to .com
  10. paul joannou's books on the club are normally decent. i also have a soft spot for the newcastle united fc story by john gibson (mainly details the fairs cup run)

  12. i'd rather he didn't have the meet with him. it will be no more than a face saving exercise for the twat, go through the motions etc and not give a shit really.
  13. Is that a nazi reference? too far? seriously though--you see something like that your conscience should pang you into action & raise the damn flag! Maybe a tad too far. I agree with the sentiment though. It's worse than just a poor piece on linesmaning if he was thinking something like: "Oh, it looks like that french guy just had his kneecap shattered, but the ref told me just to deal with offsides so I won't bother raising my flag, he'll just have to writhe around in agony for a bit." And going off the view he had of the incident, and the way he seemed to nervously look towards the ref shortly aftewards, as if waiting for a whistle, it's not an unreasonable interpretation of events. Both Halsey and Wilkes equally culpable here. Linesman had a clear view yet chose to do nothing. Halsey's view was partially blocked but he didn't even have the sense to consult his linesman after seeing the coming together and the subsequent cries and injuries of Haidara. i still remember the radio 5 documentary where they mic'd up the officials, before, during and after a game. the ref said "i want hadballs in the box, offsides and nothing else from you" whats the linesman to do? also, i may have posted this before, not sure, but i was talking to someone i know (not really a friend) who, because of his son and wanting to help out at his kids footy is taking the refereeing stuff. they had a talk in with a local (north west) premier legaue referee. he's instructed that they aren't to referee a game, more manage an event, that we the supporters want to see games of 11 v 11 more than see the rules applied. swearing at the ref is to be stamped on (they'll get marked down for it at lower levels if they let it pass) but to let it pass at higher to apply the rule of keep everyone on the pitch.
  14. was that an ian rush goal for us and david rocastle playing for them :'( ?
  15. There's a plethora and we all know it. He's off home, his wife isn't ill by all available accounts and he willingly allowed it to be reported that she was in an attempt to mitigate his departure. Those are facts. Sorry. ?
  16. theres a few hostels and cheaper end hotels but be craeful, it's a thin line between ok and in with the tramps. food wise, stowell street is good value (chinese), a few pubs will offer decent enough food if on a budget and the general chat section has a "newcastle resteraunt" thread if you want to spend a little more.
  17. can someone change the thread title, looks like carver's to blame for it all.
  18. any of the benfica fans who've signed up planning on coming over here ?
  19. i'd like to see a list of other clubs injuries as a comparison. just had a look on physio room and there are a few hamstring injuries at other clubs, do we get more or do we jsut take more notice. (still not very nice looking down that list and seeing "Acute Leukaemia")
  20. whats an exclave then ? never even heard of one, heard of an enclave though. edit....that bit of russia is an exclave then, just checked.
  21. Thauvin moved to Lille in January. our feeder club.
  22. i never realised there was bit of russia between poland and lithuania.
  23. when you think back to sissoko and yanga-m'biwa we seemed to have put a lot of work in to get them to want to come here and it was like we got them without anyone else being able to put up much of a fight to get them. (same goes for debuchy and cabaye really). could we be seeing the same thing happen here, and hopefully thauvin aswell.
  24. this all seems hmmmmmm........familiar.
