liverpool now at just over evens. over 20mins left. thats worth it.

i'd always said he was a better coach than even he gave himself credit for but as time went on here he drifted away from that and went for the easier but more costly buying strategy. still wonder about bassong as he was classed as a shitty wise signing till he got a few games in then he became a keegan find.

I'll try and get the titles of a few books I've read about it all and its clear as day why he left first time around. He needed a break basically. The rest was just fitted in to things really. He was working 18 hours a day and took not winning the league really badly. The Fulham stuff I've heard one or two things about, it says a lot though perhaps about both men, that they are still friends and get on today. i've heard they have a "professional" relationship more so than being friends.

It wasn't even a popularity contest. All fans could see was a huge up turn in how the team were playing and how well we had started the season. To undermine the man responsible for all of that over some obscure agents, foreign imports and Dennis f***ing Wise showed a complete and utter lack of football nous and indeed f***ing brains. If it were Pardew and not KK fans would have kicked off all the same, although obviously not so strongly. Even today I cannot comprehend the stupidity of it all. KK in charge of this squad of players would almost certainly have us aiming for the top 4 very strongly and playing top quality football. But they thought in their wisdom, the opinion of agents and Dennis Wise was more worthy than the man who they actually appointed to bring back the good times, times that many a fan could see around the corner... until these c***s brought it to a crashing end. i wonder why they didn't just let Keegan get who he wanted ? would've been easier really wouldn't it ? They did with Colo, Bassong, Jonas etc. Whether he had much say on them as players or not KK at least liked what he saw and was happy for them to sign. I think KK would have accepted some kind of compromise or middle ground but drew the line at f***ing Xisco and the other player we signed. That and the Milner sale. KK is a footballing man, who has been there, seen it, done it, won it and wore the f***ing t-shirt. The man knew what he was doing and who he was signing. They in-turn decided Dennis Wise knew more and could be trusted more. Which begs the question why appoint KK in the first place?! I have my own theories... which are ? my theory is that he wanted certain players, more than we could afford and he just dug his heels in. re milner, wasn't the story we sold him with the plan of getting schweinsteiger, then he turned back after agreeing terms etc.

crawler. I agree up to a point re keegan but somethings have always irked away at me, the reasons for leaving first time round when he came out with one reason, then later another and later another when to me it just seemed like he was told he couldn't carry on spending as he had done and he didn't like it. then his behaviour at fulham with ray wilkins and until i find out who he was after before he left the second time i'll always question what was going on and finally the amount he claimed for leaving was ridiculous.

i'd take a win, no doubt. honestly don't know anywhere near enough about thim to say if we 'should'.

In this league he 100% isn't. Out wide he'll be invisible far too long and cause problems for the full-back behind him. Through the middle it's a much better use of his strengths in addition to somewhat negating his weaknesses. i'd rather he done both when he played, we know sissoko can be very fluid, as can ben arfa, to have gouffran or marveaux being third in similar vein would be very hard to mark out the game.

i think he'll start taylor and mapou. probably wouldn't if we had a game at the weekend but theres plenty of recovery time and try to build a lead. i'd basically go as strong as possible on thursday but give colo a rest and play mapou.

No, the Madras game. If it were me arguing exactly what Madras is saying, he'd find something to counter it, probably what I'm saying. The man doesn't seem to have an opinion on anything these days, he just fence sits. my opinion on keegan is as it was then. i admit to being like that (fence sitting) on pardew at the minute, if it were my choice i'd have let him go after reading, now i'm not so sure and will probably flop this way and that till the end of the season. nice to see i'm now a fence sitter on the ashley thing as i'm normally accused of being an ashley apologist.

Based on what? If Colo goes we might buy another centre half for the first team. As even though Taylor is playing well we know that he simply can't be relied upon. i'd like to think work has been done to find out whether he is unlucky so far are if he truly is unjury prone.

i'm a heretic for denying the saintliness of Kevin of Doncaster and alan of gosforth

Not denying that the treatment of Keegan was shocking - but lets not kid ourselves that any other owners haven't shat all over club ledgends. SJH, his son and Mr Shepherd for example pretty much forced KK out with the floatation, sacked SBR in the worst possible way and who can forget Poppins gate? KK was not 'pretty much forced out', he disagreed with the way in which the club was heading and resigned of his own accord. He was forced to resign under Ashley though because key decisions were being made behind his back. He was lied to constantly as well and that's not even mentioning how shitty he was treat as a person. All massively different to how he was treat under SJH and co. I'll grant you the treatment of Sir Bobby and the whole 'Mary Poppins' carry on but most fans hated FS and couldn't stand him anyway. Lets face it, KK and Shearer and even Hughton were all treated disgracefully by Ashley and co. The former two are NUFC legends and Hughton took us up in very difficult circumstances at the first time of asking when many, fans included, had tipped us for either a further relegation or eternal residence down in the Championship. keegan and shearer were both club legends, both have massive questions hanging over them about being managers and keegan knew full well how the game works, ask ray wilkins when at fulham, i guess thats why they haven't managed a club since leaving here. you're right about keegan disagreeing with the way the club were headed as it meant he couldn't spend as he wanted anymore.

the wheatsheaf will probably have it on.

just wondered and couldn't be arsed to trawl back through to find out.

has it been pointed out that it was a stupid free kick to give away, poor play by colo and far more worthy of a page or two of discussion on here than whether or bnot perch should have reacted quicker.
-
thing is, you say that as if it's been proved definitivly that not getting players in the summer was the problem and not crap tactics.
-
i disagree.
-
i'd guess his competition comes more from players shoting at him than with other keepers. i'm not too sure this competition for places is all it's cracked up to be.

Let's get this right from your point of view, the person to blame for the goal was the only person who made an attempt to get to the ball. You don't either jump or not jump. As a defender you keep your eye on the ball and react to whatever happens, like Jonas did. If Jonas can see where the ball is going and can react then Perch should have been able to react. As for never having played football, give over. thats if you think jonas reacted to the ball as opposed to deciding to jump regardless.

What about the first? Silly but that stuff happens all the time. The second was a real let down though. The first goal conceded belongs to Perch. Bale should never have gotten away with that bullshit kick. Even if Perch had stood on his toes he'd have blocked that shot. Instead it goes straight over his head and he turns to watch it, disgusting on the replay. Also for Colo's part it's the kind of foul you see day in and day out and that's why we form a f***ing wall in the first place. Second goal is down to Colo and Taylor both, imo, Colo blew it to begin with but its no good when you have a situation where it's 100% certain that a centerback can't track back and at least pressure a forward who's got behind. Colo left Taylor out to dry, but god damn a CB with a shred of pace could have at least made Bale sweat a bit on the shot. Overall I'd like to see us phase Colo and Taylor both out. Both players are nearing the end of their peak abililities and while I have a lot of love for both players and they have both been great servants for the club, it is time to start looking toward replacements. Hopefully Mbiwa is the business and we can blood him in and bring in another hungry young CB behind him in the next year or two. Taylor turned 27 about 3 weeks ago and is finally showing himself to be a good defender. Finally ? I really struggle to remember his last poor game. defensivly he's been as good as colo, he's just not as good with the ball at his feet, but few are.
