  1. i wouldnt say vital blocks, just had a bog standard centre half game, on the good side. on the bad side cost us a couple of goals imo.

they are currently above us, thats all they aim for.
  3. having seen it again (and again and again) taylor could have done better but as last man, colo was flat footed and slow to react. most of the blame goes to colo here.
  4. most famous for scoring an incredible 30 yard, dipping lob of an own goal for lens and also for being a bit of a nutter.
  5. rons agreeing with me, thats how nailed on this is.
  6. got to disagree, colo hasn't looked class since sunderland away.
  7. In all the clamour for m'biwa to be given a start, maybe saylor shouldn't be the one dropped.
  8. i know theres a few supporters of other teams looking forward to this. it's nice to be thought of as a good watch again.
  9. Oh FFS. I'm not one for sending official complaints but I am gonna send one about this. please don't, it's a very mackem, small time, thing to do.

It sounds like Gouffran was almost definitely arriving in the Summer before his signing was moved forward to January. Was his Summer signing a done deal? Anyway, we almost bought Remy so you'd have to think if everything had gone to plan we would have got Remy in January and Gouffran in the Summer. Based on that, I think we will be buying a striker in the Summer. The £8m set aside to pay for Remy hasn't been spent (assuming the money to bring the Gouffran and Sissoko signings forward wasn't from the same pot. If it was we've spent around £4m of it). didn't we try to buy aubameyang after we'd already got gouffrran ?
  11. pardew does seem to keep the players happy. if it goes tits up would he stay on in the terry mac role ?
  12. i remember being worried that dariusz djackenowski (?) would do us that day. also was talking to an an old bristolian in the pineapple afterwards, said we had nothing to beat that day but keegan and us were the perfect match.

He'll be under more pressure at the start of next season and won't get the patience he had this season from many fans imo. depends on how we finish this season.
  15. kevin philips at palace, when did that happen ?

i think we'll be back after aubameyang. given our record of getting those we've been linked with previously i'm quietly confident.

Yuuup. Quotes all read to me as following: Newcastle will have to have one helluva squad to achieve anything in the next 7.5 years I hope the f***er wasn't implying that we have been on his back this season? He's got to be aware that he's been getting stick away from match time. This forum is proof of that. If you mean that he's been given a decent time of it by the supporters during the matches then yes I'd agree. The press too have been ok generally. i wonder what others experiences have been like away from this forum ? mine are that he's been given very little stick for the poor performances from my mates etc who go to games but some of the players have been slagged off (in the pubs, at work etc, not at the ground). Most of the people I talk to don't want him gone tbh and I think that is mainly because they don't want us to go into another period of instability. Having said that I do think he has bought himself a bit more tolerance than someone else might have got because he exceeded expectations last season. That's not to say that there hasn't been plenty of anger aimed at him after games like the Reading one, and I have good mates (and family!) who felt he should have gone after that. I do agree with you though that the (lack of) performance by some of the players has probably been more strongly expressed than any anti Pardew sentiment during the recent horrendous run we were on. For the record I don't want him to go. I'm praying we have a decent end to the season and everyone involved with the club learns from what has happened these last few months. I do think AP has the ability to do a good job here (I know some will disagree with that) and I don't want the experience he has of what this club is about, its supporters, its owners, the players etc walking out the door. I agree with this, though my opinion has swayed a lot this season with there being some really strange decisions and negative play mixed in with some industrial-strength bullshitting - after the summer he claimed to be delighted with the squad strength, now he blames much of the struggle on it. I'm much less convinced about his overall ability than I was and his efforts under pressure this season haven't been too good, but despite this the positives of keeping him still outweigh the negatives of him going IMO. Not that I think he was ever in any danger. One of the biggest things for me is that players new and old seem to continue to rate him. This season there have been some worrying hints of fallouts but generally speaking he seems to have their trust. That counts for a lot. tbf what was he supposed to say ? we didn't get what we want now i'm going to have to put these kids in now and again and they just aren't good enough (yes i've laid it on thick but you get my drift). the tactics when we had good enough on the pitch was the thing for me, the whole "play ba through the middle all the time" was just weird.

i had a read through that hoping brummie might have made an appearance. also none of them seem to think "he spent way more than they could afford to reach 6th and they are paying for it now", where does that leave them aiming for ?
  20. Somehow I doubt the same applies to most Spurs fans. It's Shabbat, too. i think you'll find it's shazbat.

  22. My main issue with him would have to be his lack of concentration, which leads to sloppy passing/losing possession very cheaply. If he can regain focus for the full match duration he will soon be back to being one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premiership. Agreed, everything all comes together tbh. If he is concentrated usually he makes the right decisions if not well you know what happens. As mentioned above hopefully with Sissoko and Cabaye in front of him will help. not just those, he will have decent options all round him.
