Ive had this exact conversation 3 times today If Isak were at Villa and Liverpool.bid and were told to sod off, they'd go (if the rumours are true) for Ekitike. Not because we are after him but because hes the next best thing to Isak of that style of player.

Yeah we can (I think), if he extends his contract then the amortisation process starts a fresh from the remainder over the new term. So for example if there was 20mill left over 2yrs (10mill per year)and he extended for another 3 that then it becomes 20mill over 5yrs so 4mill per year. So that remainder could be used on his wages. I think.

So how could anyone bully us ? The new contract tract could be an issue depending on any clauses.

It would give us so many options, don't get stuck in thinking we have to stick as we are and can only get players who are upgrades in those direct positions and roles.
