  1. "There was 1700 of them against me, my mate Bob and this strang fella in slip on shoes and a donkey jacket. We battered the daft mag kernts!"
  2. If Obertan and Best don't make it what's the best we can hope for? Krul Simpson Taylor Colo R.Taylor Sammy Guthrie Cabaye Gosling Jonas Ba
  3. Was that not the Llambias quote saying Puma will need to know by January to start designing strips for next seaon? Sure i read that last week. Aye. The NR deal runs out at the end of the season.
  4. Signed a new three and a half year deal.
  5. I wouldn't worry lads, our under 18s beat the Mackems 4-0 earlier in the season so at all levels we're still 5-3 ahead
  6. Look at all those first teamers. That's more or less an u18 squad that. I imagine theres would be of similar strength considering it's international week.
  7. It's quite heartening to see them get so excited over a victory in a reserve match. It just shows the catastrophic impact our start to the season has had on them mentally
  8. It would make sense considering that's how they usually celebrate not getting beaten off of us at their place.
  9. North Korea beat Japan 1-0 earlier today. Now usually that wouldn't be worth writing home about but this result makes Dear Reader's DPRK world champions (unofficially) http://www.ufwc.co.uk/2011/11/north-korea-1-0-japan/
  10. By sounds of things it was recorded, the guy who recorded it wasn't sure what to do with it and was advised to give it to the papers and so offered it to the mirror. Can't imagine the Mirror would stick it in the paper as fact and quotes from Derek without being able to back it up otherwise they'd be taken to court. Where was this posted? Would be curious to know who 'advised' him to 'give' it to the papers... Wasn't posted here I don't think. Steve Wraith (I know I know) was asked for advice on what to do with it. He didn't reply to the person in question but appears pleased with there choice I'm just really wanting to know where it was posted before news of the story broke this week - surely someone must've mentioned it (even if it was a friend of a friend repeating a rumour). Nowt on TT or TF from what I can see. I dont think it was. He wasn't sure what to do asked around and sent it to the papers. Noubt to say the person who recorded it was a poster on forums like this or twitter etc so no reason why it had to make it online before the papers. I'm sure the person recording isn't/wasn't a forum member, but immediately after the story was printed someone on another forum was claiming it was his friend from uni - just seems odd that no friends of this alleged uni student have commented on it between the spurs game and this week. I did hear someone a few weeks ago claim that a friend of a friend was speaking to Llambias in the Shark Club and he was giving it the big'un, but that conversation centred around Joey Barton not being Dekka's favourite person. http://www.pilkipedia.co.uk/wiki/images/thumb/1/1c/PosterBullshitMan2.jpg/428px-PosterBullshitMan2.jpg God's honest truth, it's just popped back into my head.

  12. Howay man, Gastropubs aren't that bad.
  13. one of the reasons i started following the packers I didn't know you were gay?
  14. Aye. It was the first year 4 English teams had been allowed in the CL and it played fucking havoc with ITV as they tried to shoehorn every match onto one of their channels.
  15. To be fair, he is right about Shearer and Carroll
  16. It's not like he walked into Shearers on matchday, stood up on the bar and shouted this out like - there might not have been many Toon fans in there. Llambias has been seen in the Shark Club after the past few matches. Chances are he was chatting shite and someone recorded him.
  17. Aye, because he made his name as one of the better journos by libelling the fuck out of Premier League chairmen We know Llambias is a nasty, speccy bastard, after all he is the prick who was quoted as saying he wanted to punch Keegan because he disagreed with him. He's not a football man, he's a (failed) casino owner. Mort was duplicitous but he recognised how important it was to have the support on your side. Apart from the Carroll stuff...he's spot on there.
  18. You'd have thunk that, but Cameron managed to find time in his day to wade in on the Ingurlund poppy non-issue so maybe his diary is looking a bit bare.
  19. We'll be looking to recruit an international sponsor I'd imagine. One that works in a variety of territories so that the local impact wont be that much of an issue. Mutual brand activation and all that.
  20. One question - why did the council give the club planning permission to plaster Sports Direct signs all over the place if they care so much?
  21. You'd have a job getting the old farts in the East Stand to hold anything
  22. I think it's probably less to do with demonstrating the idea and more to do with taking the sting out of any fan backlash. By the time next season comes around and we have the "bluechip sponsor" the club say they're looking for they wont face any negative publicity because we'll just be glad to be rid of Sports fucking Direct.
  23. Bet you it will. Tottenham have already been looking into this, as that Times article alluded to, my boss is a Spurs fan and they think its coming. Chelsea have got a deal lined up for next year too haven't they?
  24. Changing from that to any corporate sponsor will be difficult and generate negative PR for the brand. However changing from Sports Direct to Sony/Vodafone/Sadie the Bra Lady will be a palatable transition, mainly because SD is the fucking pits
