  1. we heard him crowbar a link with Brian clough in Wonder what kind of daft price is available for him to be gone before the end of the season, a la Clough and Leeds United............ Gone into mackemland without his trusted right hand man - like Cloughy did at Leeds. Has Robertson not went with him? Apparently not.
  2. Aye, he played across almost the entire back four during that season and looked extremely comfortable. He looked shakey during last season's Carling Cup match with Arsenal but then he was playing alongside Perch in a makeshift back line. It's bizarre that the club have just turned their back on him given his age and talent, although as you say there are rumours his attitude isn't right and he came back this summer well out of shape, injury or no injury.
  3. Nee chance. Didn't MO'N sell him, a footballing CB, for £5 million so he could bring in Dunne and Collins to hoof it into row Z?
  4. If you were being a dick then God knows what Ronaldo has been playing at for the past few years. lol luv u realee ronny m8
  5. Just looked like a strain to me. He went over to the bench, got a bit of the magic spray then after a few minutes told Pardew to give him five before bringing on Perch. Never really struggled befoe he came off either, still made a few class challenges.
  6. Obetan should have cam off for Shola Aye, he was getting nowt out of Cole.
  7. Thought it was very premature bringing him off at HT. He wasn't up to scratch but as one of flair plays I'm sure there was a better way to accomodate him and Shola, possibily dropping him back to the wing. As an aside anyone else get the feeling we may go 433 once Maiga and another full back arrives, with Modibo/Jonas/HBA supporting Ba?
  8. Aye, very fucking badly if what I saw at Blackburn was anything to go by. I'm certain Pardoo sees Santon as he future RB once Simpson is sold for not signing a new deal. He came on there against Spurs and looked handy.
  9. There's a reason Santon isn't playing ahead of Raylor... HE! IS! A! FUCKING! RIGHT! BACK! ...ahem

  11. I wish people wouldn't give scores for players because it just makes me hate the ill-educated fucks on here even more
  12. Thought he was outstanding and comfortably our best outfield player. Was a bit gutted for him near the end when he misplaced what was basically his first pass of the game and there was a massive groan. Said exactly the same to wor kid. First pass he misplaced was on 92 minutes, a difficult ball to Simpson. First thing Guthrie's done wrong in a very long time, been immense since he came in.
  13. I suppose if she wants to be here, its the decent thing to do to put it ( the big tribute) off. The club couldn't really say "piss off, we've already printed the hymn sheets" could they? It'll be even more emotional knowing she's there.
  14. Just noticed that Steve Staunton's wiki page contains this gem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Staunton
  15. I don't mind Joey, I think the game would be poorer without personalities like him, but he's coming across like a bit of a twat. The bloke is having a whinge about the fact he wasn't paid when he was in jail and that the club played funny buggers over the bonus structure. Sorry, but I struggle to sympathise with him when his basic wage at Newcastle United was somewhere between £60,000 and £80,000 per week. Llambias didn't need to mention Speed but apart from that there isn't much wrong with what he has said. He's still a loathsome fucker mind.
  16. Sounds like it's going to be Hughes. Hard to gauge what type of appointment that is considering he overperformed at Blackburn, underperformed at Man City and was about average at Fulham. He has went a bit mad in the media recently mind.
  17. You're right, however they're no where near as good as some of the Sunderland supporters believe them to be.
  18. He must have some good pals in the media, he gets linked with every job
  19. I reckon appointing O'Neill would only end in disaster. He's a Keeganesque motivator but gets really flakey when there's nee cash to spend and Short seems to be trying to get Sunderland on a better financial footing. Hughes seems to have got a chip on his shoulder since he was fucked off from Man City too.
  20. If it was my place I would advise both to shut the fuck up.
  21. ForumRunner > Tapatalk. I use it to view a few sites and it works well.
  22. That sounds very fitting, fair play to the club. Could be an emotional morning. I'll have to keep off the sauce to make sure I don't sob like a child
  23. Imagine a high flying banker/businessman from the city, educated at a public school, then an Oxford college, being sent up to sunderland on a work trip. He's already spent 3 hours in the bog of the first class carriage shitting himself about what to expect. Upon arrival, he sets foot on the underground platform, unable to see daylight. Nervously, he goes up the escalator to reach street level. I'll leave you to imagine the scenes that will greet him... Like the start of Resident Evil 2. I imagine it'd be more akin to the Wicker Man. He is shocked and unsettled as he learns of their way of life, tries to leave but realises his only means of escape has been sabotaged before he's burnt alive in a massive wicker Greggs pasty.
  24. You can't get a train from London direct to Sunderland You can. They're not frequent mind.
  25. I think they'll do alright, being away from the cauldron of bews that is the SoL.
