I don't think it's an issue really. Most players are going to prefer to play for X, Y and Z ahead of Newcastle at the moment. We'll struggle to find anyone who would rather play for us than play for an Arsenal or a Chelsea. To Gamiero we represent a massive step up, although maybe not the step up he had in his minds eye.

I haven't seen enough of Gameiro to comment, although he fits the description of goalscorer which is what we need. Gervinho looks amazing though. I would be over the moon with either. Not fussy.

Financially we're in a better position too. If it's only between ourselves and Everton then I'd like to think we're favourites but if an Arsenal, Man City or Spurs come in it's a different matter altogether.

Okay - how about Menez or Gervinho? Menez is still being linked, surely can't be all three of them?! I didn't know Menez existed was until he was linked with us so my opinion on him is worth fuck all unfortunately

Gervinho is the only player of all the ones from France linked to us I've seen for any length of time and he's a class above N'Zogbia like. I wouldn't whinge if we signed either of them, but if I had a choice I'd go for Gervinho every single time.
