  1. Wasn't France Football the one that broke news of Henry's move to Barca? And didn't he threaten legal action against it until a day or two later when he moved?
  2. Tbf, he's only had one real job. The other one was a mickey mouse one in which anyone could have succeeded (bringing Juve back up). It's an ambitious move and has come out of nowhere but I don't see much difference between him and Shearer. He'll know more about football in general because of his international and club experience but Shearer will get more time from our fans. I wonder why they've gone for him and not Shearer Really?? They started on minus 10 points wasn't it? Plus I'm sure quite a few of there best players left as well, yet they still finished top. Minus 15, I thought EDIT - Was 9 Not much, is it? They drew their first game then went on a 7 game winning streak and had closed most of the gap already. They had Buffon, Legrotaglie (sp?), Zanetti, Nedved, Trezeguet, Bojinov, Del Piero, Zebina, Boumsong etc. Most of them are internationals who are still there for Juve today (and they're in 3rd place I think). Not the point though. He came in, managed to keep most of their big stars, won Serie B and then when he wasn't given control of the transfers told them to fuck off. Did the same at Monaco too when they started selling people from under him, a season after he got them to the CL final. Well worth the risk
  3. Deschamps is the bigger gamble but is widely seen as one of the brightest prospects in world management. He could go either way but if I were Mort and Ashley and I knew he was interested i'd be straight on the phone.

  5. Houllier has distanced himself and wouldn't work in tandem with another man after the Roy Evans debacle. I will put a bullet in the head of Sparky Hughes he gets too close to SJP.
  6. Fuck Shearer. Why are people obsessed with getting him in?
  7. Better than Redknapp, Keegan, Shearer and Hughes IMO
  8. He played some real dross. They got results but a lot of the time they weren't entertaining.
  9. A little birdy told me that the only reason Redknapp was approached first is due to the fact he has a clause in his contract which allows him to discuss terms with a club without having to get permission from Pompy. It was made clear to him he was one of a number of candidates but when he turned around and told Mort he wanted to commute too and from the south daily he was told in no uncertain terms to f*** off. This sounds more realistic than any of the tripe being touted in the media. That's why I thought. It has just been heard 'through the grapevine' at St. James' by someone who works there but it does seem to make more sense than what's coming out in the rags The same person also said that it's water tight compared to what it was like under Shepherd and everyone seems to have a different opinion about who is coming in.

  11. He lies, he cheats, he steals, he dives, he cries... But he's easily the closest f****** thing we're going to get to Maradona or Pele in our generation. I can't hate someone that good, simply because they are that good.
  12. Playing the martyr eight months in. Acting like we're a charity case and he's done us a big favour. we were and he has He hasn't paid OUR debt off, he's paid HIS debt off. He hasn't given US any money. He's invested it in HIS business, from which HE will get the profits. Falling hook line and sinker for the old Shepherd guff. Fuck off, knacker. If you're on a fishing trip the well done, i'm here hook, line and sinker. If not then you're just proving yourself to be a mongoloid worthy of the Joey Deacon treatment. Like Ashley or not he's came in and paid the debt of OUR club, the club WE support. Whether or not its his in name is irrelevant, as he could've quite easily saddled with a tonne of debt and played us like the Glazers and the Hicks of this world did with their clubs. If he gets the profits off the pitch then we'll get them on it. Man United made have just made the largest profit in their history and they did iy by being good. Anyone can see that success = money. Ashley is a very savvy guy and will know as much.
  13. They can't defend much either.. PASS Hughes > Van Gaal But NUFC-online wants a foreigner... Hughes is foreign, the Welsh t***. He's British They can't defend much either.. PASS Hughes > Van Gaal But NUFC-online wants a foreigner... What has Hughes ever done to suggest he is even in the same class as Van Gaal? I watch his team week in week out and i'm impressed with them and their style of play... good wingers, delivering quality balls for predatory strikers... good football on a budget How many of us watch AZ regularly? Whenever I watch them they look very shaky at the back... I can't believe you're advocating Hughes over Van Gaal Berk
  14. I'm beginning to think that Mort was just struck by lightning while on his mobile.
  15. Yeah, because we're a lot like Barca
  16. Stearman is a good, young right back, worth a punt at only a few million. Kolarov is a young Serbian left back, played well for them in the u21 Championships. Unfortunately, he signed for Lazio last year but it is probably possible a substantial bid could secure him.
  17. Did they have the third or fourth best home record last season?
  18. If we sign Ashton i'll take a contract out on Harry myself. He's a very poor mans Shearer. OUT Martins (£8-10m) Shola (£1m) Carr (Anything!) Lets say that gives us close to £30 million.... IN Campbell (£2m) Arshavin (£7m) Alves (£12) Stearman (£1/2m) Kolarov (£6m)
  19. I agree and while I try and take this frame of mind I think the situation is going to give me bipolar disorder. One minute i'm chipper, thinking that a decent manager is a possibility, the next i'm down in the doldrums thinking of Droopy Redknapp.
