Maybe, but you don't get any points for being a god in defensive midfield. Defenders get all the clean sheet points. Midfielders get 1 point for a clean sheet, whether they're a Tiote or a Ben Arfa. Aside from that, midfield scoring comes from goals and assists. The bonus system is also hugely biased in terms of attacking play. If 3 players on the pitch have got a goal or assist he won't get a look in bonus points-wise. If its 0-0 then bonus points usually go to defenders and keepers.

That or they're the type of people who think the subs bench is just for filling with the cheapest player in each position and that they'll never have to look at it again. Or all they've seen of him is the arsenal goal and they think he's an attacking midfielder. Who knows!
