    Sunderland...

Uh, irony detector on overdrive, you're posting in a thread where everyone's having a tantrum over a Newcastle fan being on an advert and threatening to cancel their Sky subscriptions in a huff.

    Dimitar Berbatov

I was on a school trip to century radio and we found out from their sports guys as we were being shown round. Gutted. Especially for him to go to Man U.
  3. Yes, if you want to look like a Barratt Fruit Salad
  4. If Enrique leaves we could play him at left back, he liked it there.
  5. I like it. Don't think its a very flattering photo of it, wait till you see it on Ben Arfa or Tiote, think it'll look class. Then I'll buy it in the belief it'll look just as sexy on a pasty bearded midget. It won't.

By the end he practically was everywhere as well. Suuuuummmo! Suuuummmo! Always had a soft spot for him, he was our #9 when I first started going to matches.
  7. be nice to think the early 'cheap' deals are intended to leave the finance in place for the possibility of sturridge becoming available like, can't see it myself however Dunno if that would be "nice" seeing as we could lose a few players at the end of the window, not get Sturridge or whoever and end up with a big bag of money and nee players again.

Same way we're living in the past if we talk about playing in the Champions League, but they can go on about a 9-1 a century ago, it's just mackem logic.

Their own absurd fictional character has come to life, must feel a bit like The Gruffalo.

Is it any more outlandish than what their own Mag At Work character comes out with on a regular basis? http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=601528 http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=564224 http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=560951 http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=416048 Actually, this one http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=564085 and this one http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=417903 Are cracking for different reasons

  15. With us not having a "Daft questions" thread the the football section... What's the deal with the Scottish national side supporters? While England are or were notorious for not being able to go anywhere without wrecking the place, Scotland fans are welcome pretty much anywhere and seem to have a great time wherever they go. How does that fit in with 90% of Scottish football fans following either Rangers or Celtic and wanting to bray the fuck out of each other for the rest of the year? There were a fuckload of Scotland fans in Newcastle yesterday (why, I have no idea), packing a metro platform, and some of them wearing tartan and the odd Celtic top were singing "We'll be coming down the road", which another group joined in with. Then the second group started a chant of "Big Jock Sex Offender" but it never seemed to kick off and the next song they were all singing together again. Is it that the protestants and catholics are able to put aside their differences to support the national team? Or is it that Rangers fans want to be English and Celtic fans want to be Irish and that leaves Kilmarnock and Hibs fans attending the national games? I know it makes a change, but I'm not being facetious for the sake of it, I genuinely don't understand how it works, educate me
  16. The fact he's 29 and NUFC is quickly becoming Logan's Run can't be very good for Colo's will to stay or Ashley's will to keep him.
  17. You had a link to this page instead of to the image in your img tags http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/607/newliverpoolthirdkit111.jpg/ Apparently that shirt is influenced by 80s tracksuits, so it's perfect for scousers.
  18. I'd love Taraabt here for a sensible price. He's got a fantastic touch, a great turn of pace and excellent vision. I might baulk at a figure in the region of £10m though simply because of his attitude and being unproven in the prem. But fucking hell, the lad could land a ball on a 5p at times.
  19. Ooh-aah Demba Ba Say ooh-aah Demba Ba? This lad's name goes with everything!

    New Number 9?

For people saying its sentimental shit, just give it to anyone, do you not think having a special number set aside is an advantage to the club? Carroll seemed to step up his game when we gave him that responsibility. If Ashley takes a bang to the head and tries to land someone of Sturridge's calibre, do you not think we could help sell it to him by saying he'd be number 9 and pointing out the significance it has to the fans, the players like supermac, shearer milburn he'd join? Rather than just a choice between everton's number 23 shirt or our 31 shirt, because we gave the number 9 to whoever was our starting centre forward when it was squad selection time?
  21. In amongst all the usual comments you get on a Barton article

    New Number 9?

Surely, surely we can afford at least one player that costs a decent wedge after all the Carroll money and all these freebies?
  23. Maybe I've just been on here too long but this thread man I've got some magic beans to sell to some of you guys if you're interested
