  1. Oooooh are we getting a huge chunk o cash or cash and a player or maybe two players it's like christmas!!! I CAN'T WAIT http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/1645/agufi6.gif
  2. Can I smack that smug look off your face?
  3. Because he's a key employee of the club. Really not trying to be a dick here but ... so? He doesn't show up on the pitch or the dugout, he works behind the scenes, what the fuck do fans really need to like him for for his job to get done? A player or manager I could understand fans needing to like, because of the backing support shows on the pitch. But I just don't get why Wise needs to be seen as a golden boy in anyones eyes but Ashleys. edit: I think this gets back to whether or not he's doing the job he's supposed to be doing. If he is (was?) then there's no reason to dislike him. I don't think he has to be a public figure at all.
  4. Why would Wise need to win the fans over? edit: I think that answers a lot of the silence the club has been putting out. Clearly there is no fuck to be given as to how he's viewed by the fans, so why bother saying anything?
  5. People suspect he is an interference with the first team, and dont agree with that - the suspicion has grown because of any lack of denial from Wise himself. That's a fair point; why hasn't Wise himself had anything to say on, well anything? If he's just a youth scout then fair enough, but why the fancy title, 'assisting the board' etc? All we've had are these anonymous statements which when compared to one another are as clear as mud. If he came out and said anything would people believe him? The possibility of a claim for constructive dismissal from Keegan probably plays some sort of part in the lack of comments on people's roles from the club tbh. Fair enough, as you say there would be many waiting to pounce on anything he said. But as I said before, if he's merely a glorified scout, what is there to be afraid of? If he and his team are responsible for the young players then nobody can find fault with that. If he and his team were responsible for bringing in the likes of Bassong and Jonas on the cheap then nobody can find fault with that. If they're keeping quiet because of the Keegan claim, what does that say to us lot? It suggests they have something to hide. An unexplored avenue is that the club just doesn't feel it's pertinent to release such information because it serves no purpose. People tend to think in terms of what they would do, placing themselves in the place of the club and justifying or not justifying decisions that way. What they normally fail to do is forget their own priorities as a supporter when projecting like that. The club, in particular messrs Ashley, Wise and Llambias clearly have a different set (not necessarily better or worse, just different) and so don't fit in with trying to reason things out like that.
  6. If people are so unsure over what his duties are, or should be, and what he's currently doing, then how is it possible to apportion blame? We're in the shit but just how much of it can 100%, incontrovertibly be traced back to him and him alone?
  7. Why the fuck are crowds in the 70's being discussed in a thread about Shay Given?
  8. What, has he tried to hold a normal conversation with you too? A net worth of £xxx DOES NOT MEAN A PERSON HAS THAT AMOUNT OF CASH AVAILABLE.
  9. Anyone else think of a young Tim Booth when they look at Colo in those pics?
  10. http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?board=16.0 Quite a few of them very upset yes. Quite a few calling for the heads of such ambitious owners putting their club further in debt yes.
  11. They don't have to actually get a handle on it. ISPs would much rather lose N-O's £100 or 200 a month than fight a potentially lost battle and lose everything against a group with hundreds of lawyers and tons more funds. It's a no brainer for them. The threat of litigation is enough.
  12. I wonder how the players he does pick will feel
  13. There's nothing a good fight doesn't fix between two people who should be getting along, especially men. It's needed. We're not good at emotions so we don't know how to express ourselves with anything but fists and I can't count the number of times I've gone on to be friends with someone after slugging it out. They'll probably show up at a press conference next both sporting little heart tattoos on the upper arm reading "AC + CN 4eva"
  14. RIP Kadars Fibia. get well soon lad.
  15. Still having a hard time agreeing this is all a gamble/on purpose. Just think it's far more likely that the players who would a) improve us b) come to us (geographically and career wise) c) be sold by their clubs mid season for anything approaching a reasonable fee are simply not as plentiful as people imagine. Ah but then there's the old chestnut "well they've had since the summer" ... well, so what? Scouting teams all over Europe have had since the summer so where's this gigantic flurry of activity? Are they all failures? 90% of teams out there need strengthening in some area or another. The fact that this one month mid season period is nowhere near as active as the offseason bears out the difficulty of it. If it was everyone but us making moves I'd agree in a heartbeat. But oh well. Ashley, Wise and co are clearly in league with/may possibly be Satan.
  16. PPV mostly (fuck satellites), illegal means otherwise.
  17. Is this accurate and what can you add? It's 110% true sadly, but it wasn't a tackle. The ball got passed to Charlie and he didn't run for it if that makes sense. Carroll told him to start putting some effort in and Charlie told him where to go, it was Carroll who started it by going to kick him, which Charlie dodged and retorted by smacking him. Carroll being the mint head he is tried again failing before Owen got in with Charlie accidentally clipping him. All in all it's a f***ing joke mate, both will get fined rightly so as N'zogbia should never have hit him back, but still, typical Carroll sort it with his fists. Thanks Nixon, all in all its a sad situation and a complete endorsement of the type of ship JK is sailing! Teammates having a training ground bust up is a unique occurrence not only to NUFC but to Joe Kinnears tenure?
  18. Eagerly awaiting the self righteous indignation of the doom mongers at being told to think about things for a second.
  19. Blatantly didn't look like that "by the looks of things". Saw the replay twice he was giving him an earful but saying it came even remotely close to physical violence is ridiculous.
  20. Even more importantly Butt will be banned so JFK will have no choice but to play him.
