Can I ask where the "asset stripping" tag comes from? In the year and change since he's been here I've seen a lot of negative charges levelled at him but only in the past few days has that popped up. Is this just people repeating it over and over hoping it sticks without question or is there a specific history I'm blissfully unaware of?

He hired them to look after the day to day running of the football club because no doubt, being a billionaire businessman, he doesn't have the time on his hands to do it himself. Blaming Ashley (if the scenario i've portrayed is correct) is like blaming the owner of ASDA because your local branch has run out of baked beans - he hired the man who hired the man who hired the man who hired the woman who hired the person that orders the baked beans, therefore the owner must be killed! I think it's a solid, principled approach to not speaking about press speculation, no matter how wild or widespread it is. Cave in once and it's game over. So let me get this straight ... if they don't deny a rumor, no matter what the rumor is, that makes it true? Not every rumour is lead story on SSN and the BBC. Ashley to sell toon has been top story on quite a few occasions and they didn't deny it immediately -- didn't make it any truer then, did it?
