  1. There was no way we were buying another CB when Colo was staying in the summer. We also have decent cover there with four senior CBs in the squad. There are not many teams in the league who have more than four CBs in their squad and I can't see how we can blame Kinnear and Ashley for our CB depth. Just have to hope that the remaining three can put up solid displays. We very nearly signed one we tracked for the best part of two seasons and who both Pardew and Carr agreed could be a valuable addition to our squad. When our esteemed DoF pulled the plug on that deal single handedly he hinted at knowing we needed another centre back and thinking he could do better. Now I am aware Kinnear is full of s***, but I do believe that for his intervention we would have signed Douglas regardless of whether Colo was staying or going. Rightly so too, because despite having four senior centre backs on our books, one had his mind set on leaving and has been suffering more and more niggling injuries recently, one has been injury prone and blunder prone for years, one has been proven to be not very good at this level and the remaining one was still settling in. I don't think we can carry five CBs in our squad. Out of those five Willy is the only one who wouldn't mind being the fourth choice. He hasn't been very great but he's totally fine as a fourth choice. So I believe that if Douglas would've joined we would've needed to get rid of either Colo, MYM or Taylor. MYM maybe could've been played at FB but we aren't exactly short of players there either.

  3. There are not many countries you like. Which countries do you think I dislike, out of interest? I don't know, just saw your comments about Hungary last week. Nothing major.

    Sir Alex Ferguson

Good point from Keane. whereas in his book where he laid into Mick McCarthy the FAI and anyone who p*ssed him off its all ok from Keanes point of view. I know nothing about these books and I don't really understand why people do these autobiographys. They don't need the money and there will always be people who get hurt. Can't see myself writing any books if I was a famous footballer.

  7. Maybe the fans are the only people bothered about him being with his family when injured as he is so respected in the club. Of course everything changes if he faked this injury too.
  8. Colo's family is living on the other side of the planet. Does him going there when he can't play really indicate that he doesn't care or understand what it means to play for us? He's a millionaire but still a human ffs.
  9. It's not like he's sailing there, those airplanes are decent I heard. 10+ hour flight vs. a few hour flight? I don't know if you travel a ton but 10 hour flight vs. a few hours make a hell of a difference man. I know there's difference between a 10 hour flight and a few hour flight (and I've done them both numerous times ) but it's not like he's doing it few times a week. He's there for a while and comes back when he feels better. I just honestly can't see the problem in either him going to Argentina or the time the flight takes to get there. Because he's supposed to be setting an example to the other players regarding their responsibilities to the club, peers and and fans, perhaps? All of which, by the way, have stuck with Coloccini through thick and thin in spite of him trying to cower off home when we needed him most last season. He's been f***ing rubbish so far this season, then he gets an injury and pisses off home before our most important fixture. What sort of captain is that? You keep telling us that he's no leader. Would he really help us against the mackems in the sidelines? His family isn't here and I'm pretty sure the players and other people inside the club can understand it when he goes back to his family when he can't play. He's not the only senior player in the squad. As club captain he should be there to offer support and maybe to gee the lads up. No excuse to be jetting home whilst injured tbh especially the captain. As KI said, this is why he's no captain. f***ing joke he's still got the armband. I just don't understand this. You have told us years that Coloccini is no leader and a bad choice for captain. Why does it bother you that he's not there Sunday? The fact he isn't there enhances Ron's point surely to God? You'd think so, like. How would he help us if he's no leader and a bad captain? Would you suddenly think he's a good captain and a great leader if he was there?
  10. The thing is...how can we know if he's a good captain or not? He's not the most effusive motherfucker in the world, but that doesn't make him a bad captain. Only the team knows if he's a good captain or not.

  15. How in the world would he help us against mackems when he's a s**** captain and no leader according to many of you?
  16. It's horrible, so many good games have been ruined due to that rule. Only give the red card if the last player tackles a striker on an empty goal or handles on the goal line. Basically if there's a goalie to beat, give only a yellow+penalty for a foul on the box. If MYM does that pull outside the box, give a freekick and a red. Not this double punishment bullshit.
  17. Weren't his most horrible decisions either regarding shooting. Ball bounced back from the box, didn't mind him trying to shoot from there as it could always take a heavy deflection and go in. On the other one he probably should've passed but he created the chance himself and was already on the edge of the box. Poor execution on both but IMO weren't bad decisions. Pointless post, he was good.
  18. HBA wasnt it? Sure it was Tiote Tiote to HBA.
