  1. Modric maybe, Adebayor no. He's tearing us a new one, like him or not. Aren't you watching? I am watching, just don't think he's a level up from Ba (and possibly Cisse, too early to call). He's been poor for about 7 or 8 games, but before that he was easily one of the best strikers in the league. Modric maybe, Adebayor no. He's tearing us a new one, like him or not. 2. Their 2nd goal was from a cross that a centre back should clear. Willo was too rusty to block it. He was telling Simpson way before the cross to mark Saha.
  3. Guthrie is about the only player I'd give any credit to tbf. Yup, he's trying make things happen all alone, yet some here say he's been the worst. When Shola comes on I'll switch off.
  4. Chelsea are so poor. If only Luiz would have been sent off against us.
  5. It's not like we are playing or having any effect on the result. I wouldn't cry.
  6. Holt and Ramsey on the bench in FF.
  7. Donovan is so clever. Shame he likes to be the biggest fish.

    Papiss Cissé

'Even a lion chasing after its prey on the savannah needs to show economy of movement and lucidity of mind to snare its catch, and Cisse demonstrates that in his running.' Never in million years saw this comparison coming.
  9. Good post. Main point to me is that Obertan isn't defensively any better than HBA even though he tackled once in last game.

    The England Thread

Eh, do you support the English team? Yeah. This always puzzles me. I know many in Finland who support England. I kinda understand it here as we've never been in World Cup/Euro, but you Swedes have always been competitive. Father is from England (Newcastle), didn't really give me a choice. I didn't post it directly to you, just in general. Edit. Reading my post again, it seems I directed it to you.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

You can't really build a team around goalkeeper or CB, huh?

    Danny Guthrie

Needs new contract ASAP. Would be amazing to have 3 competent CM's and not needing to be shit scared of one injury/suspension in CM position. IMO he's one of the biggest surprises in the whole league this year and now would be great time to tie a new contract as he has been playing regularly for a long time.

Obertan really isn't defending more than HBA as some seem to suggest ie. Obertan is RM, HBA is not. HBA has worked harder in the few games he has played lately. Obertan has been the passenger in our team this season and that's why it's mad how much Pardew gives him chances. I would move Jonas to right as he hasn't really clicked offensively with Santon yet and Simpson needs more help. That would also IMO help Jonas' end product as his right is clearly much better than he's left. His left foot crosses are mainly floaters as he needs to put so much effort in only getting the ball in the air. Move HBA to LM where he loses the ball more on the sideline rather than in the middle after cutting in and it wouldn't be as dangerous. And I don't think he loses the ball too much, but Pardew clearly thinks so.
  15. Not enough love for Totti. He could have left Roma and go to any team in the world. Sure he's a c*** but he's able to be c*** in a funny arrogant way.
  16. He deliberately fell and put his leg out to get contact from Baird. Awful.

    Shola Ameobi

What did we pay for him? £2m? I'd rather keep him but wouldn't be aggrieved if we got our money back on him this summer. IMO Best is the best we can hope for from 3rd/4th-choice striker right now. Ideally buy someone young on summer and keep Best and Shola as back-up, as everybody knows Shola isn't going anywhere.
  18. usually they're not bad at scoring goals however very early judging of that fellow modeste based off 1st half on football first is he hasn't the vaguest clue what a goal is or where to score one Modeste got himself into good positions but his shooting was s****, did he get any on target tonight? not that I can remember watching thus far, in fact I'm struggling to think of a shot even close to being on target One good shot late in the game afetr Colo slipped, but went straight to Krul.
  19. Simpson was balls. I know it's become a cliché to slate him for backing off, but he literally does nothing to stop attackers getting by him. There's virtually no point in him being there. He was at least three times much lower than other line playing Blackburns players onside. Worst was when Formica hit the sidenet. He was 3 yards below everyone and kept like 4 (?) Blackburn players onside. If you take away the goalline clearances, he's just shocking. And I didn't even say a thing about his ablity with the ball.

    Other clubs' transfers

From Wiki: After playing in youth teams, Drogba made his professional debut aged 18 for Ligue 2 club Le Mans. A late bloomer, he signed his first professional contract aged 21; it was not until the 2002–03 season that he realized his potential, scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances in Ligue 1 for Guingamp. During the same season he made his first international appearance for Côte d'Ivoire, in September, and scored his first international goal the following February. He moved to Olympique de Marseille in 2003 for £3.3 million. Can't help but think that if we had our scouting network set up like it is now, back then he would have joined us and we would maybe have a trophy that isn't 40+ years old.

I'm really sad about this. Always been my favorite non-NUFC player in PL and seems like a nice guy with all those charities. There's so many memories watching him play thinking he's totally unplayable.

    Papiss Cissé

Can't believe this and feels just unreal. Always thought he's out of our range especially with Ashley in charge. Feels surreal to wait them back from Africa. And fair play to Ashley, guess he got little excited after we won Man United and got above Liverpool last weekend and realized it's much more fun to have competitive team than just getting 10th-14th with peanuts spend.
