This is the real test for Spain as their defense haven't been really tested. Ramos also loves Hollywood last-ditch tackles that can go easily wrong especially against Ronaldo and his ego is too big not to try those especially against Ronaldo. I'll bet on Portugal some way but nothing too big as I've chased the losses back and want to stay on profit from the tournament after the abysmal start.

Portugal will lose the midfield and Spain will have all the possession. It all comes down to how well Veloso\Moutinho\Pepe\Alves can shut down the middle. Pepe is very used to playing against the Barcelona midfielders so they can certainly do it. Ronaldo and Nani are some of the first players in the world you would choose for counter-attacking strategy so Portugal have a real chance to qualify. Hopefully they pick Oliveira ahead of Almeida as I can see Almeida being a passenger if he gets picked.

Debuchy is easily the most exciting player we've been linked with after getting used to Simpson's complete inability with the ball. Bring him in Yohan.

Finland has never been as close to getting to the tournament as we were with Hodgson. I think Hodgson was picked for England because he knows how to make the teams defense rock solid and was the best choice because of that on limited time\squad. In Finland he relied on Hyypiä\Litmanen\other old players and the youth was brought up after he left so have no idea how he's in bringing younger players through, but almost surely better than Redknapp. IMO Italy just totally outclassed you in midfield. Compare Gerrard\Parker to Pirlo\De Rossi\Montolivo\Marchisio who are constantly changing positions. You really played well the first 20 minutes when you put the pressure on real high but then Hodgson\the players just decided to sit back the rest of the game. Hodgson got what he wanted but you were just unlucky in the end.

Not to belittle his sizeable returns, but lets put things into perspective... He won €583.33 after staking €600 - he'd have been just as well off sticking a single on Italy to QF at evens. Fair play to him picking a couple of winners from the 6 bets but he did have his bets hedged pretty well. I'd have been really impressed if he'd stuck a couple of doubles, trebles and four-folds on yesterday, maybe turning his £500/600 into £3500 profit I watched the game 2 hours late and told my friend earlier to bet 300€ on England if it goes to over time, as I had the Portugal\Germany\Spain\Italy to qualify accumulator too which returned ~820€. I missed it from the picture as it was put so much earlier (suspicion arises) . I wouldn't hedge those Italy on extra time\penalties bets like that.
