Not sure of the point in having Sissoko pushing so high up to try and win long balls, yet still being behind Ayoze. We have so many players best suited to playing in behind a big man, why not just go out and buy one. Or even give someone like Chucky at least a place on the bench.

You watch Williamson on the ball and it makes no sense, he's terrified of it. Kevin Scott was the same back in the day. Always wondered just how they ever got a career as a footballer when you think how comfortable on the ball some people are without coming close to getting a trial or anything.

Other than Abeid starting thats as good as we had available, only on defender on the bench (Santon) shows how limited the options are at the moment. Its like they dont expect any of the back four to get injured or suspended as soon as the window closes.

Completely unsurprising news but the worst part of it all is that he will clearly get the job in the summer providing he does "OK". That means more months of not being able to just watch the game and want us to win. Before Pardew left I would imagine we already had the smallest background staff out of the whole league. I doubt there has been any consideration of bringing another coach in now. Even worse, should he upset Ashley in any way and leave before the summer, then I have no doubt Beardsley would then step up and we would be yet another body down on the coaching staff.
