it was almost perfect too to Remy iirc. Indeed. BT expert co-commentator Gary McAllister was adamant he was trying to chip the keeper . Moment of the match for me. About 15mins in, realising there was no Michael Owen

Sorry I'm not following. Winter kit? As in wear the season strip till winter, then switch back again in Spring or is it now 3 different strips a (football) season?
-
What's the story with Southampton and their lack of stripes anymore? I had thought they had a one off centenary strip but still plain red this season.

I tell you one thing. I wouldn't want to be the manager of the big Sports Direct closest to me which just so happens to back right on to the biggest Catholic estate!

Cardiff City vs Newcastle United - Saturday 5th October
Belfast Boy replied to Dave's topic in Football
I know it is very much scoffed at on here (given that it has never worked in the past), but we are shipping so many goals and have such attacking full backs, would 3 at the back be worth a shot? Drop one of our midfield 3 for Taylor, allowing the fullbacks more freedom to attack? Liverpool seem to have proved it can work, and I wonder would it allow Colo to bring the ball out more in a Phillipe Albert style? -
NUFC Fans Forum - No interest in winning cups
Belfast Boy replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
Very weak answers from the club there; just easily trotted out excuses that barely have anything to do with the points from the floor. Yeah, we get that you're running scared because we nearly went down, but fuck me going for a cup doesn't automatically mean relegation. And yeah, the Europa league affected our league results maybe, but would an FA cup or league cup run really cripple us!?!? If so, then we need to buy some more fucking players. It's one thing being careful two thirds of the way through a season if first teamers have niggles. It's a completely different matter to play the first cup game of a season stating that we can't aim to win it incase we end up going down. -
So Ferguson has been binned? But we have only named 24?

Is that how the loan fees work? we pay a one off sum and no wages? is that the case with Remy? We couldn't afford £3million for Ba (with no wages) so we definitely couldn't afford £3.2million + 20k a week ffs, you animal.

Whats the deal with wages when you pay a fee to loan? We paid £2m for Remy so how much wages are we paying?

On holiday in france and saw l'equipe this morning. Big picture of cabaye with a headline saying arsenal bid again but psg about to act. Also a sub headline saying newcastle arrive in marseille for ayew. -

The replacement, if there is one, has to be a left winger. Sissoko was being shoe horned in everywhere and now will play alongside Tiote when fit (lets not pretend we wont play 442). I'm not sure where Gouffran was meant to be playing last night, he seemed to be behind Cisse. Once Remy goes there someone to replace Jonas is obviously needed. Thauvin sounds ideal. Seeing as time is running out to spend anything we get for Cabaye a part exchange with Sahko would be great as Willo is far too close to the team again. -
BBC gossip site linking a Metro (free paper not local radio) report that Carlton Cole is training with Spurs.

Blackpool 0-1 Newcastle United (FT) post-match discussion from p12
Belfast Boy replied to RodneyCisse's topic in Football
Seems very strange. He's been working on his own in the gym, all he can be lacking is match fitness and at the end of the day, is that not the whole point in pre-season friendlies? -
