  1. Looked like that initially, turned out Atkinson just changed his mind having seen the injury.
  2. There's often no such thing as the "correct decision" in football, that's the thing nobody in the game seems willing to admit publicly. They're insistent on providing objectivity where it doesn't exist. Funnily enough, they don't use the system at all for the genuinely objective calls in a game (was that a corner or a goal kick?).
  3. The challenge idea is so short sighted imo, just a lazy suggestion because other sports have it but doesn't consider how the game of football actually works in practice where a minor decision can become a major one depending on what follows. Would you waste your 1 challenge on a throw-in that you thought was yours? Unlikely. But you'd want to challenge it if the ball was in your net 10 seconds later. How would that work? Do you have to challenge at the time, and lose the challenge once the ball is back in play? Or can you challenge based on what happens after it? And what happens if you challenge for a penalty for Alli's handball? It clearly hits his hand. Do you lose the challenge then? Farce is exactly what it would become, very quickly.
  4. The rules have been fine with the odd tweak here and there for 150 years. Rather than keep meddling with the game itself, they need to put it down as a bad job, accept that it can never work in a game as subjective as football and fuck the whole thing off.
  5. VAR couldn't have made more of a mess of that game if he/it tried. On the main TV game as well, lovely.
  6. VAR gave the red didn't it? Atkinson had already given yellow.
  7. It was definitely the right decision because VAR made it.
  8. Bottom club Dijon come from behind to beat PSG.
  9. "You know what would really improve the best and most relatively significant moment in any sport? If we get a jobsworth to trawl back through the video frame by frame and try to find something wrong with it while everyone sits and waits for them to do it."
  10. It can't be fixed. Football is too fluid for it to ever work satisfactorily. And frankly even if it worked perfectly 100% of the time, it would still make the game worse. Checking every goal after it's been scored and after the crowd have reacted to it is rapidly changing the very nature of the experience that is the most popular sport in the world.
  11. Molde have fucking done me tonight. Everyone else playing against ten men this weekend has ran riot but not those useless bastards.

  13. Fancy a Willems card at 5/1, up against Traore and can't imagine him getting loads of help from ASM.
  14. It was after we had a man sent off they did this to us as well, they move the ball round so well, perfect for exploiting the extra space.
  15. Could be the end of Ralf this.
  16. Lundstram looks good value. Pilko, that slip is 100/1 on 365.
  17. BTTS Over 2 Man United cards Over 4 total cards Over 8 corners Liverpool win 14/1 Schalke/Liverpool win/BTTS 15/1
  18. Prime example that corner West Ham got this afternoon that was clearly wrong and that they nearly scored from.
  19. Ball clearly contacts just below the PL badge on his sleeve. That's quite far down the arm.
