  1. A real shame how his NUFC career has petered out. I love Jonas and I'm not afraid to admit it. He was a very important member of the team that got promoted, stayed up and finished 5th, that's at least three seasons of decent performances and hard work. Hope he's got through whatever personal problems he was meant to have had and would love to see a cameo tomorrow if possible.
  2. When did we last score 4 away in the top flight? Spurs away under KK ? Sounds about right.

    Andy Carroll

Gambling his fitness in the hope of keeping his job. Nice.
  5. Sorry I must have missed the post where someone called him a c***. It's long been the fashion on here to think that Chris Hughton is a clueless arsehole. I'm just trying to fit in.
  6. Very few teams come out of the Championship having scored 90 goals - post Christmas of that season, it was basically scoring at will, especially at home. But yeah he's a cunt.
  7. Fairly sure that Fat Sam spent quite a bit that summer, most of which was under Ashley too. £6m each on Alan Smith and José Enrique (then hardly ever played him), £3m on Rozehnal, £2m each on Fayé & Bèye. He signed Caçapa, Geremi & Viduka on Bosmans but they would have been on very decent wages & signing fees. His shitty, wasteful, irresponsible spending was arguably the reason that Ashley panicked and brought in his mates to oversee transfers that led directly to Keegan leaving. Wasn't there also a rumour at the time that the reason that he got the sack in that January transfers meeting was because he told Mort that he wanted to sell most of the dreck that he'd just persuaded the board to purchase in the summer? Aye, he spent £15m-20m, although he did re-coup some of it. Dyer was sold for decent money off the top of my head. Parker too.
  8. Coming from the bloke who vowed to come out and slag us even after we win...the next game we win at OT and he comes on praising. Fucking turncoat Who's "us"? Freudian slip is it Alan?
  9. Hard to believe anyone is quite this dim.
  10. Wider squad? We didn't see the wider squad, we went full strenth pretty much and still got fucked. Feel robbed of seeing the 'wider squad' now. Full strength.
  11. Tactics against Palace looked identical to me until we got a goal and the players clocked on how shit the opposition were. First twenty minutes was really poor and we certainly didn't go at them out of the gate.

    Remy Cabella

    What an idiot, no offence.

    Remy Cabella

How long did that take you? Do you realise you'll never get that time back?
  14. You'll be happy seeing it against Cardiff in the league then? Remy and Williamson aside it was probably the strongest XI we could field, however Cisse and Saylor are players who should be able to cope when called upon. If you believe Cabaye and Krul were genuinely injured and wouldn't have played if it were a league game, you'll believe anything.

  16. Astonishing that this even needs explaining but then it appears even the most basic human psychology is beyond some people's understanding. Lambert, Allardyce and Pardew were all in the press last week with tears in their eyes about having to play in the FA Cup, all three subsequently got binned out after pathetic performances with no heart (four in a row for Pards). Funny that.
  17. There was an article in the Independent at the weekend before the game making the case that we were the only Premier League team that could afford to throw our full weight at the FA Cup, and that we should do exactly that. So glad we didn't, will make for such an exciting run in. Will be it 8th? Will it be 9th? Be still my beating heart.
  18. I'm inclined to believe Stifler, he tends to know what he's talking about.
  19. If he really wanted to be out of the FA Cup, why not give some of the fringe players a run out then? Cabaye was out so he could have started Marveaux or someone similar to provide the missing creativity. Instead he went with his favourite tactic of two defensive midfielders at home to Cardiff FFS. He was shit scared of losing same as always. There's a rabbit off somewhere as far as Marveaux's concerned.
  20. Few weeks ago against Palace. Not many teams have managed to do that to them but we did. An own goal and a penalty, aye proper leathered them.
  21. How much was Everton's attacking unit btw?
  22. I shudder to think how insufferably dull my life would have to be before I thought this Newcastle side were enjoyable to watch.
  23. If we're talking English, even fucking Steve Bruce's team is capable of giving another Premier League side an absolute hoofing (without them having to have two players sent off first).
  24. Fuck's sake. West Ham are going to sack him before the 18th Jan aren't they?
