Based on money basically. Based on the money we are spending we are doing fantastically well, I'd agree. The problem is we have spent -38 million on transfers since Ashley came in. MINUS 38 million! I just don't know what we could realistically do (with Mike Ashley as owner) to break the domination of those clubs ToonPack mentioned. Some of our supporters have a completely baffling attitude to elite sport. Pay hundreds of pounds to watch players being paid ten times as much for a week's work and yet have a point of view that is basically "it's the taking part that counts" It's completely alien to me.
