Never got my head round so many people claiming that the FA Cup final would be the thing that saves us in terms of Wigan, as if they're going to be absolutely shattered and resting their entire squad. It's one game. Too many people falling for the Pardew bullshit. They'll approach things the same way they always do. The cup final is only one aspect of it. Pardew kept whingeing about playing 2 games in a week during European cup weeks. So how can it be possible for Wigan to get results with 5 games in 15 days with a much smaller squad than ours?

Wigan and Villa have won 5 times as many games away as us. Yet every time we get a point, there's always a few people on here saying "away point is always good, would have taken it before kick off, can't just expect to go Old Trafford/Upton Park/Madejski Stadium and win". We're so fucking accepting of mediocrity as a fanbase, it does my head in.

There's some incredibly silly things been said about him whilst he's been here. Of course it's true that when he has a ball at his feet, he's atrocious but there's so many posts on here about him being an appalling defender which is quite blatantly not true. Some defenders are better at tracking, tackling, interceptions, that's all true but Simpson's strength (apart from kicking off the line) is standing where he's supposed to. His positioning is consistently good and furthermore, sometimes his weakness with the ball is his strength - how many times have we seen Santon try and bring the ball down in his own box and cost us a goal? Simpson knows he's simply not capable so when in doubt, will always put it out for a corner. Our problem against Liverpool was a horrendous defensive line and because of that, I had absolutely no question that Simpson would make us more solid (although obviously moreso Coloccini).

Mate at the match said he was near the linesman and had a great view of him falling over but thought the lino got it right and that it wasn't in. MOTD commentator has tweeted that the replays show the officials were right and it wasn't a goal. You always do this. Have you actually seen it? FWIW, I think it's impossible to call in real time but there's no way replays show it as being either way.

Away performances have become completely scripted. Start quite well and retreat further and further back as the game goes on, so that by 90 minutes, it's basically 11 blokes on the goalline in sheer terror. Couldn't have done much today though. Same as Villa. And West Brom. If a team wants to attack, you can't do anything to stop them, not allowed.

Massive pressure on the mackems, hopefully the fact that neither Stoke or Southampton are safe will see them pull their finger out. That said, I can't see them failing to win at least one of those games.

Trouble with that is West Brom having their fucking shades on. Can't complain too much about that though because so have West Ham and we weren't interested in getting the job done.

TBH I think if we'd gone in 1-0 up at half time, we'd have managed to be even more negative in the second and ended up losing.

Everyone up to Stoke can still go and there's still a few teams have to play each other. Pretty sure 3 points against QPR will do it. Trouble is that I have absolutely no confidence in us getting them.

Why is Spurs not winning important? They're winning, anyway. If arsenal are sure of CL football then it might be easier for us last day. No chance were beating arsenal if they need the win. Better off keeping Southampton in the mix, especially as we'll probably want them to beat the mackems.
