In the late stages of a game, there is nobody better to have on the field, his ability to keep hold of the ball is absolutely first class. I thought Pardew made a big mistake last season when he took him off at the SOS before they scored and his replacement actually lost the ball which ended up in them scoring - tbf to Gosling it was a clear throw our way. Was worried he was going to do it again when I saw Gosling on the touchline but thankfully he stayed on and was tremendous in helping us hold the lead. He's got fantastic ability to skin someone right on the touchline and somehow keep the ball in, very skilful. He should try it more on the byline and get into the box, remember he did it at home to Villa once to set Martins up.

It's the fact they're not even playing most of them I can't get my head round. It's the same fucking dross from last season. Sessegnon looks a good player but the rest... Gyan has hit the wall, he was absolutely dire.
-
Also remember seeing a comment on here that he hadn't scored a 'league' goal for us either, since he joined... what a place/macth to get that first one! He definitely scored in the Championship, very similar free kick at Ipswich for one. Premier League, probably right.

Can't knock him today, rode our luck in the first half at times, second half we were excellent. As Dave says, the result is everything.
-
I've been thinking that. It's a game often decided by a free kick. 20/1 last goalscorer.
-
Can't believe he's starting a player that came on and gave us some energy and directness last week. God, what a cunt he is. He thinks his own replacement for a £35m player is worse than Ameobi. Does that fill you with confidence in either player or manager?
-
Can't believe he's actually binned the player he brought in to replace Carroll after less than one game.
-
Wish the thread from when we signed Michael Owen was still here.
-
Hope not. Cringeworthy that.

Nut posted something about Lens making a decision about them next week. EDIT: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,68821.msg3151561.html#msg3151561

It's basic psychology that if your maximum price is say £100,000, you'd offer considerably less than that to begin with. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7Hix0Mq1gMg/Sqfzx5bjpdI/AAAAAAAAADY/xWFpZMB-eOg/s320/Monty%2BPython%2BLife%2Bof%2BBrian%2BHaggling.jpg "This bloke won't haggle!"

V Given Beye colo Albert Jose Ginola Lee tiote Robert Shearer cole That's without really thinking! Absolute cake walk I could name another 11 that would absolutely batter them as well Srnicek Venison woodgate bassong Bernard Gillespie batty dyer jonas Asprilla Bellamy Two teams and you've not even mentioned Beardsley and Ferdinand. Not sure they'd live with a 38 year old Steve Bould mind. Chris Makin ffs.

It's canny ridiculous to refuse to negotiate on that £100k though isn't it? We can't rate him very highly if we won't stretch to 150, 200 don't you agree? Just emphasizes that how much we rate a player comes a long way down the list when deciding who to sign and is certainly below the big barrier, cost, even on a minimal level like this.

Very interesting question.

wow, amazing - he's clearly not even lying here here really changed shit up against arsenal twat He did though, he brought on Obertan and he played well and nearly set up the winner for Cabaye. Doesn't particularly inspire me that the way he changed it was to bin his own new star striker and Carroll replacement after 45 minutes for being shite. the arsenal point wasn't about the change he made, it was about the change he didn't make sad that needs explaining really It isn't about who he brought off, why should that matter? He recognised that the 4-4-2 wasn't working and the strikers were isolated, so he brought one of them off and added Obertan to link the attacks a bit more. Maybe he should have brought Shola off, I would have done, but he made a good change FFS. I don't know what you mean about the "change he didn't make", sorry. They weren't so much 'isolated' as 'crap'. Always thought substitutions are overstated as part of a manager's matchday duties. He should be getting it right from the off, that includes buying the right players to go into the match with.

Mine as well tbh, at least we might hang onto some good players. Isn't it normally just incoming transfers that are banned? IE Ashley could sell to his hearts content with a ready made excuse as to why he's not buying any one. I just meant ban the buggers in general tbh. Hate them. Should be open for a month in July then closed again until January imo.

Don't blame him. Yeah, think he should put in a transfer request now. Wouldn't begrudge him in the slightest. In fact, I think they should all go, and Pardew and his team as well, should never have come to us as we're totally shit. In fact, I think we should get rid of the club, total embarrassment to the city, wouldn't begrudge the demolition men in the slightest (though to be honest we're probably not good enough for them, they probably think we're small fry with our lop sided mess). In fact, fuck Newcastle full stop. If we can't persuade a left back to stay in the city rather than go to traditional giants like Liverpool waving wedge in his face and an unarguably greater chance of National recognition whether they're in Europe or not, we should just give up, burn it to the ground, and move to Wearside. BottledDog's post needs to be framed and hung on the walls here. I know it's a British thing to put ourselves down, but we really need to remember what club we support at times. Maybe we should take the same approach to politics. Abolish elections, if anyone criticizes the government, mock them for being a whinging cunt and tell them to shut the fuck up, they could live in Zimbabwe and don't know how good they've got it.

Keegan obviously hadn't heard about the 100k.
