The manager who signed those players is gone though. We may have got him in on loan while Hughton was here, but did HBA not sign with us permanently under Pardew? I doubt he'd do that if Hughton was the sole reason for his arrival. Shh don't say that, by Wullie's 'logic' when a signing turns out good, it must be all to Hughton's credit. Don't you know Hughton is the next Mourinho...that's why he is now managing err... Christ how dull. Dull coz you have no response? Anyway not as dull as your Hughton wank fest even after he is no longer relevant to Newcastle Of course he's relevant to the comment "more Tiotes and Ben Arfas please", he signed them. Might as well say "another Rob Lee and a Craig Bellamy please " Grow up.

No, it's 10 yellows now. No it isn't. 5 is a 1 game ban, 10 a two game ban. The 5 card ban is done away with during the season though. Course it is. Carry on.

I doubt he'd do that if Hughton was the sole reason for his arrival. That's like saying if a manager leaves, every single player then immediately asks to leave too. How often does that happen? Chris Hughton's the only manager I've ever seen who's apparently not allowed to get any credit for the signings he made. Tiote and HBA are credited to Carr and even Mike Ashley recently. When Bobby Robson left and we had £50m to spend, I don't remember everyone saying "well at least we can buy more like Robert and Bellamy" because the bloke who picked them, signed them, was gone. If Wenger leaves Arsenal tomorrow do you think their fans will be saying "don't need him, we'll just find more players like Fabregas and van Persie"? Pardew might be a genius with transfers but he has yet to prove it. He hasn't exactly started well.

If he realizes his potential, he will be one of the most expensive players ever sold.. Good news for us then.

The manager who signed those players is gone though. That's true when it comes to HBA I guess. CH is liked by everyone and is a true gentlemen (he's actually my favorite behind Sir Bobby), and that could be the main reason for HBA wanting to sign for us. But when it comes to Tiote, is much more about having the proper scouting network in place. If Carr and Co have done their job properly, which they obviously did with Tiote, Chris' approval is only a formality. Hughton watched Tiote under KK's instructions before Carr was even employed by NUFC though. I don't agree with this current trend of denigrating Hughton's signings as not being his. Even if he hadn't scouted Tiote (which he did but no-one likes to mention that), so what? I've never queried who scouted Laurent Robert because I'm not interested - Bobby Robson signed him, so he takes credit, just as he would take "blame" for Bassedas. Never heard of anyone having a go at Wenger and claiming his transfer policy is not his, just because he might not personally have been in Barcelona watching a 14 year old Fabregas.

Best actually played in premiership in 2004/05 season, it took him 6 years to get his 2 goals, if your judging it the same way as your judging Cole, he even made premiership debut against us, tbh i think their both not top draw, its just Best is better than Cole for me on current form. Fair enough, hadn't realised that, he was very young though and he didn't really take six years because you can probably still count his Premier League appearances on two hands. Not saying Best is any good mind, but I think Carlton Cole is dross, and yet would still cost something knocking on £8-10m.

"Reassurances That Every Penny Will Be Reinvested In The TEAM."

The re investment of the Carrol money seems to imply Pardew isnt in the loop of that Golfmag statement or simply is Golfmag wrong on the club sale side of things I don't see what is wrong with Pardew's remit to reduce debt and costs. The fact we have some utter dross on the books making onscene amount of money. Could it not be that he needs to get rid of that? We are currently willing to get quality players and pay them. Ben Afra is a perfect example and other players have been signing contact extentions. Most of us at the start of the season wanted survival, its looks like we got that. We might now even have a chance for Europe. I am going to enjoy this season. We have accomplished more than what I was expecting and we do have a good squad to build around and make a legimate push for Europe next year. All of us have our suspicions, but we see Ashley true colors this summer. We know we have 35 million. Lets see what happens. Who does this describe? Alan Smith I'll give you. Yeah, but Smith alone represents a deficit of £3.1 mill. Most firms go bankrupt with such a loss. Ashley sanctioned the transfer. And I'm sure we're not the only club with one or two players earning more than they're worth, Villa have just fobbed one off on us. I don't see it as a valid reason for a managerial change, nor a valid reason to sell your best players. -

It took Carlton Cole nearly ten years to score twice in a Premier League game, it took Leon Best all of an hour, with Cole stood up the other end looking very much like the utter donkey he is.

Woodgate was injured every other week with any number of injuries long long long before his thigh packed up.
-
How often does it happen that a rarely injured player suddenly turns into a permacrock? Wishful thinking lads.
-
Last season Carroll missed a couple of games through illness, three with a groin strain and went missing for a game or two when he was in trouble. Still featured in over 40 games. He's injured, he's not injury prone. If he is then so is the entire squad, with the exception of Coloccini, who is clearly indestructible
-
When has Carroll ever been injury prone?

Interesting how the English press missed out the bits about broken promises, which is surely the more newsworthy, and focused instead on aspirations and talking about Liverpool and Man Utd. Nothing new obviously but the press agenda to try and get every good player to one of those "big" clubs is appalling.

From Enrique? Don't think I've ever seen those on here.

British, apparently. Was a nice chat with La Marca apparently, so it would seem he approves of what they published. And they published something not a fantastic amount different to what the British press took out. How do you know what was published in La Marca? You understand Spanish? Why do you try to put a negative spin instead of just taking Jose's words as published on the website? Resolved in 2 minutes and 25 seconds. Good work Yup now at least we have a proper Spanish translation (thanks V.I.). We didn't when you posted your opinion though. Even though it clearly says in what you've quoted that VI posted that before 80 posted his?

Henderson's been dross whenever I've seen him other than against Chelsea.

Danny Simpson, £3m???

A good Championship player? Aye righto.

Where is this idea coming from that Mike Ashley is finding these players personally? Seen this said a few times now. Don't remember Freddy Shepherd getting the credit for Laurent Robert or Nobby Solano. I didn't say that MA was getting on FM and like going to Graham Carr "go and buy this fella he's doing alright". What I'm saying is that MA is obviously saying "try to get young players on the cheap" and hired Graham Carr who (thankfully for MA) is succedding bringing in a lot more Tiote's rather than Luque's. But Hughton had already been to watch Tiote before Graham Carr was even employed, under KK's instructions. And HBA was a £10m player with several French league titles under his belt who'd played for the two biggest clubs in France, not an obscure gem. Just think this idea that Ashley has broken the mould by having a Chief Scout is bizarre, not from you personally but it's often cited. My great uncle was Chief Scout for Newcastle in the 1970s and signed Terry Mac from Bury, it's hardly a new development in football any more than having a goalkeeper is.
