  1. He still wasn't playing in central midfield though.
  2. worst post ever, get a f***ing job pal I've got a good job thanks pal!! By the way do you REALLY think Xisco and Enrique will make it big in the prem?? I'm thinking Luque and Viana all over again! I hope im wrong but i've seen this many times before at this club, promising young foreign talent going to waste and after a few years going back to foreign clubs for nowt. I do agree selling a player just after signing him would make no sense at all but the question has got to be asked why was Xisco at least signed in the first place? Anyway only time will tell i guess, i just hope these players mentioned have the balls to fight and scrap themselves out of a relegation battle come may! Right I'll begin my arguement with Hugo Viana. Totally mis-managed, was chucked out on the left and expected to play like Robert, make no bones about it Hugo Viana is not Robert, he is a Central midfielder, look at his build, look at his attributes, Bobby wanted to play him but didn't have the room. He should have sat down with Viana and explained to him it would take time to settle to allay his fears that he was not getting games. With the right time and adjusting to of the game Portugal and England are two totally different leagues, look at examples of Viana in the middle (Feyenoord CL) and he scored, because thats what he was, as ususal the idiot section got on his back as "Over priced foreign shite" and he was away. Destroying his confidence in the process. Luque was a terrible signing, a player that at 27-28 was in no right frame of mind or had the mental toughness to change leagues, a move inside Spain would have done him wonders. He was bought while he was on the decline not the season during the demolition of Milan in the CL. If we compare every foreigner to whats gone before, we might as well just put 11 lads from Byker out and call it relegation. Just because one shares the same nationality and club does not mean you have bought the same player. Viana was on the left wing against Feyenoord, Robert was injured. [/pedant]
  3. We're in very deep trouble now. I think Villa will turn us over at a canter.
  4. I'm sure telling one of the two Spaniards that they'll be kicked out the window as soon as the fucker opens will do wonders for confidence.
  5. I was thinking that as well. Clueless. The idea that you pay more abroad is so far out of touch with the modern game it's staggering. As soon as any young player shows any promise whatsoever at that level, it's an immediate bumper price tag - Walcott, Ramsey, Bale, Chopra.

    Always was tbh.
  7. They got a their replacement manager sorted 'then' sacked their manager, it would have been interesting to see how they'd have done if Ramos has walked after a couple of games instead. Ashley had the chance to choose between the system and a real manager. He made his decision and that's why we're in a relegation fight.
  8. Levy would have been better off sticking with his halfwitted system and then trawling bars to try and find a buyer for Spurs imo.
  9. WBA, Stoke and Wigan winning, bad news for us.
  10. You could argue that he could have done better against Everton (to call it a silly mistake is bollocks) but what was this rick against WBA? Aye silly mistake is a bit strong. Didn't exactly cover himself in glory for Miller's goal did he? The centre backs were just as culpable like. Just as culpable? Far more I would say. Perfect pass, nothing Shay could have done. I was critical last season but he's been back to his best this year so far.

  12. Because as long as he's here his "system" still functions, until a new owner sets up a new set-up for how to run things. He'll just not fund transfers with his own money. He wasn't funding transfers with the club's money, never mind his own. So where did the £9 million net that Allardyce claimed we spent come from then? Got most of it back on Luque I believe and even if we didn't... £9m. Watch out City. That's the article where Allardyce said Ashley was only in it for the money and wasn't interested in giving funds to the manager? We sold Luque when Allardyce was here tbh so I don't see why any fee for him would not be apart of the £9 million net. Still a pretty big jump from nothing to £9 million, lets hope whoever comes in next spends the same as City have been doing though. Nah, just enough to not get relegated will do me at the moment. I know you're confident that we're good enough to finish top 10 though so it stands to reason that you think he's spending enough.

  15. no way. I'd say Petrov's was a more difficult shot to execute. You're very wrong imho. Petrovs goal was basically an open goal and it was a half volley. How is that harder to execute then a full volley with a goalie to beat (ok ok aluminia might have been a bit of his line but he still had to be beaten)?? Petrov gets plus points because it was his wrong foot but bentleys shot is harder to execute for sure. Eh? A half volley is far more difficult to execute technique-wise than a full volley, especially if you've just taken the latter on your knee and taken the pace off it. no it isnt. I play myself from time to time and a full volley is far harder to execute then a half volley. You're right when you say that it's easier to execute a full volley when you control it on your knee or chest first, but that's still harder to do then letting the ball bounce first and then striking it. That depends on what you mean by a half volley. I take a half volley to mean one that has just bounced and is still rising - imo that is harder to keep low and on target than a dropping ball. A ball that bounces then starts to drop again is still a volley. Both cracking goals but I think Petrov's was better. It was more accurate for a start, he put it in the only place the keeper couldn't get to it.

  17. He's always been a bit of prick IMO. The epitome of the modern young English footballer if you will, an arrogant arsehole basically. Remember when he scored that free kick against us last season and ran away pointing at the back of his shirt screaming "that's who I am!"? What a prat.
  18. Total and utter class that was. Nothing beats a bit of skill right on the touchline, not just keeping it in but beating the man too. Remember Bellamy's backhell nutmeg at Goodison just before Gravesen's assault on Bernard? Sumptuous.
  19. That's just part of the overall picture of the utter prick. Good player though.
  20. God what I wouldn't give for three points against Villa.
  21. It's always streamed live during the show. Have you not got a telly like?
  22. Barring them pulling off a miracle at the Bridge, if we beat Villa (I know) we'll go level on points with them. Big 'if' but how I'd laugh.
