  1. If you have been keeping up with this thread you would know that it was not cancelled - it was a thinly veiled attempt to rid the club of three hundred specially chosen supporters. There is a small group of us who are producing a commemorative DVD and seeking Justice for the 300. The plan is to have memorials at regular intervals and vilify the "football machine" that allows such tragedies to occur. Also, it has become clear that Adidas owns Puma, who own Adidas through the same person posing as his own twin brother. Finally, the shirts were not worn at the last home match in order to create further demand for the England shirts that are on sale at sportsdirect. They should have been and maybe were as the new shirt is surprisingly close to the old shirt but with thinner/wider stripes so no one could tell except for the cat logo which was red/gold/black (no really, a black cat on our shirt - the mackems will take the piss). Oh, and we are/are not going to have red on the new kit. WHHEEEWW - I think that's got it.
  2. Aye, there not going to. That seems like a waste. The team should wear next year's kit in the last home game to boost sales.
  3. So what happens to year 2 of the parachute payments for us and West Brom? Do I assume that we do not get them as we are back in the prem?
  4. Does David Rozenhal ever get a game for Hamburg? Just noticed him on the bench.
  5. So, you are going to the only part of the world that will not have coverage? Antarctica? Headwaters of the Amazon? Everest? No. America, however I'm working at a summer camp and more than likely won't see any of it. My condolences - first on being stuck in America and second, missing the WC...

  7. Will the club release a commemorative DVD for the 300?
  8. Already!! I didn't think the match kicked off for another 30 minutes.
  9. When Reading went up in 05/06 on 106 points they finished the following season in 8th in the premier League. Wouldn't mind repeating that performance as it looks like we are going up on >100 points.
  10. The stats on the beeb say the possession is Reading 66% - 34% Newcastle. Is this correct? We are up by two without seeing any possession. Crikey!!
  11. Whheeessssee Lebaneeeeessssee Keeeyyys are theeeeessssse - sorry couldn't resist. Agree with brummie. Someone on a Villa board is right pissed off about a 7-1 tonking and says M'ON is resigning. The press run with it. Who's the idiot, bully, irresponsible party here. The other example she uses, Taylor/Carroll is done, dusted and put on the shelf by all and sundry. Many saying that for once the club handled it in a responsible manner, away from inflammatory and divisive forces. Not Louise. She, almost singlehandedly has kept that issue going. Makes you wonder...
  12. Are any of our players on significant appearance bonuses? It may have something to do with the first XI if a player is a few games away from some cash.
  13. Interesting that we could help Boro here with a big win. They play Sheff Wed and could go in to 7th if they can close the GD.
  14. To me this should be all about the supporters. Even over here there has been grudging respect toward the unflagging support and the lack of a pity party. Get sent down - deal with it - go back up.
  15. Quoted for truth. Whenever I have spoken to our police they usually start with "How are you". When I have been stopped by American police they scare the sh*t out of me with their gun out and their shouting.
  16. Columbus is TFC's derby (believe it or not) because they are a mere 7 hours away. Generally in the MLS there are no traveling supporters as the distances are too great. This game is one of the exceptions and TFC supporters usually show up in decent numbers but the team have always lost. IMO the cops here don't know how to handle away supporters because they are rare and last year they tasered a TFC fan. This led to a brawl and extreme bitterness between the clubs. Toronto FC fans are an interesting bunch. Consistently viewed as being some of the best in the league selling out their ground and supporting the team despite winning f*ck all. Columbus has won the league and a couple of pots and so they wound up the TFC supporters.
  17. Funny that - I have only ever heard Canadians use that expression. Joey might have family over here...
