  1. Firstly we are not too good to go down. Just look at our form. Based on that we will get one more point all season. That will ensure we are in the bottom three I am sure. We cannot rely on the supposed "worse teams below us" mentality - we will go down. Even if we do go down - could we be the next Leeds? No Ashley would actually make a loss if tried to sell us in the championship. Secondly, as other have said, we have no debt. I actually think a season in the championship would not be the end of the world. We would loose half the team that we would probably keep if we stayed up. Secondly, we would have the money to buy a very strong side (by Championship standards). Leeds as a comparison had no money and had to sell all their players. Maybe it would be a reality check for all - a year to change our expectation levels and then get back into the Premiership with a different mentality and hopefully a winning one at that. The next two months are certinaly not going to be much fun.
  2. Don't see how this will be any easier than Liverpool. I suppose the only difference being the players might realise just how important this is - this game is a dreaded 6 pointer. They turned Spurs over and are a pretty physical side. I am not sure how our lightweight team will cope with that. Anyone that thinks Viduka should start or be on the bench ahead of Carroll should think again. At least the lad actually wants to play for the team and club. Realisation kicked in when I recently read that we are officially the worst team in all the leagues at the moment form wise. That really is fucking shocking.
  3. Harper Geremi Beye Faye Enrique Milner Barton Zoggy Martin Carroll Duff Fuck it - get Smith, Butt out of the side and I think Carroll (with his height and scoring in reserves) needs to be on that pitch to create more options. We have to try something different.
  4. Bar smith that is about as good as it gets I guess.
  5. Rather is read Torres, Gerrard, Babel tbh.
  6. He's obviously impressed enough - not exactly hard to do that in our current squad. None the less, another face to shake things up a bit I guess.
  7. Last 4 keegan results at Liverpool win, loose, win, loose - WIN. Come on people - something to be posistive about - the form book never lies!!!!!!!! (jk) A win has to come from somewhere, why not Liverpool. They will think they are going to bum us so that might just play into our hands. Hopefully Owen will want to do some damage and do some at that. I expect nothing but I have a feeling this one might just throw up a suprise.
  8. Harper Beye Faye Cacapa Enrique Milner Barton Emre Zoggy Owen Martins No place for Butt, Taylor or Duff, they can all start on the bench with Foster and Pie Man.
  9. Finally somebody being reasonable, some posters on here need to be somewhat realistic. Finally somebody being reasonable, some posters on here need to be Banned, they clearly support the Mackems. Doom mongers of the highest order. Any excuse to start the hate campaign. Its already started.
  10. No for me but its going to be cloase. Then again 2-4 wins, if we can achieve that, will ensure safety. How the fook did it come to this. For what started as one of the most exciting seasons ever, it will some how end up being one of the worst.
  11. He is right, a club going in the right direction can attract players.. We are sadly not though at the moment. On Henry, looking at Arsenal this season they are playing better without him. I don't think we need that kind of personality whether it is a reality or not.
  12. Lets face it, we are not in any competitions now, it is also unlikely we can claim a European spot either. Put all that together for one and its no suprise no one came in, especially with two weeks to go. What is the point of signing people for the sake of signing them just to keep the fans happy? We have enough class in our squad, to get us through to the end of the season now. Keegan, providing he can get some results on the board fast, will then, along with the team and club be playing for pride. I personally think we have done the right thing. Spend a few months assessing things and then splash the big money in the summer. Panic buys and trophy buys are Freddy Sheppard through and through, thankfully those days have gone.
  13. Lets hope these players really do have potential and we are not jumping on the band wagon for sake of it. Otherwise, what is the point of putting all the local grown talent off giving it ago if we are just buying in people of a similar standard anyway. That would be counter productive. Still I would imagine its a numbers game 1 in 3/4 will probably make it and as high as 1/10 or more will be absolutely class?? Fingers crossed and I guess we will only know in 2/3/4 seasons anyway.
  14. Touch one to call. This is really Keegans first proper home game. I do not think you can say after 2 days v's Bolton he had enough time. I know he has only been here two weeks but the players seem to be saying the right things since Keegan got here. A good atmosphere and some good all round performances should see us win this - I hope. We have a seriously depleated squad and the confidence is certianly low. Hopefully the fans will get right behind the team and we can then kick on from there. There are still plenty of points and places to play for so we should not be throwing in the towel just yet.
  15. BIG if the board was to sanction this, I think KK would leave in record time!!!!!!!!! You cannot in our current stage sell one of your best players without someone as good or better lined up. That aint going to happen if recent comments from KK are to be believed. Panic not people.
  16. Agree with Dev. The likes of Smith have had their chance and done fook all with it. At the same time we must keep an eye on whats going on beneth us!!!!!
  17. We have more chance of winning the league than Smith scoring.
  18. On 5M a year he could buy a fookin french school. On a serious note, the papers are loving this, stop lining their two faced pockets and wait for an announcement. If it was Deschamps, I would not be too disappointed. He would certinaly need more than 24 games however. Would the fans give him this? Not so sure. We would expect a 7-0 win against Bolton.
  19. New owners, not their manager, shit performances - no suprise really. He brought it on himself with negative, clueless football. He was scared to give it a go and I do blame the fans for that. You cannot blame the board however. Asley has spent shit loads on our club and he wants to see steps foward and not a load of disgruntled and unhappy fans. He has, uinlike our last chairman, spent time with the fans and I am sure he has taken on the views that he has heard. Above all, timing was not great in the whole transfer of ownership and for these reasons I think it might have been why Sam always appeared on the back foot. We are in the shit now IMO. Who the fook would want to manage our club given our reputation. Only a big step up in quality of the manager will do and only to someone who is going to keep the fans happy with entertaining football as this is afterall, what most of us seem to consider acceptable (despite winning fook all). The winning combination it seems is to have a manager that will play good football yet be good enough to one, build a club up and two, achieve success in a short space of time. Otherwise, they will be the 12th manager in quick succession. This trend has to end and now. The next appointment is so crucial its not funny. On that basis I am worried. Yes we have a loaded owner and a commercial chairman, but they are not football people. Lets hope for everyone concerned they do something right and get the right person in.
  20. It fookin better be because right now we are a fookin joke and that goes from the top the the fans.
  21. We have to make this pressure count lads - COME ON. Goal before HT pls.
