Wish all this DCL shit would stop. We need to be creative, take some risks, and do something different. DCL is a bruce/ashley signing.
-
I imagine the team (staff included) will be all out to achieve our goals as quickly as possible, so Eddie does not need to rush back. Stuff like this can have a galvanising effect. Hopefully, we can get the results and take the pressure off his return.
-
This kid is seriously impressive, words cannot do him justice. He is the complete player who will only get better, IMO. What do we think he is worth?
-
Other results should not bother us. It's in our hands. Simple as that. Focus on our game.

They have just sold their U21's to the hotel, following that the women's team bought them, but loaned them to the U18s, who were bought by the first team. So it's all good

My biggest issue with these rules is that the the fuckers who designed them, are so reluctant to apply them to every club (which agreed to them in the first place). It is so clear that certain clubs are more than taking the piss, yet they are getting away with it. ALL clubs should be punished if they break the rules, not just those who don't have the resources to come up with some elaborate schemes to avoid them. The more I think about it, I cannot fathom why everyone went along with it in the first place. Also, why aren't more clubs vocally calling the whole thing out as the shambles that it is?

I have said it before, but I hope we are creative in the summer with our new signings. By that, I mean we provide him with more options within the squad to adapt and change our tactics, which he has definitely shown he can do recently. Versatility within our system and approach would really help, and I would also prefer to look at younger, better-value players than paying over the odds for premier league players. Give Eddie the tools, and beyond doubt, he will deliver. To have achieved what he has so far is incredible. Imagine what 4-5 new players would offer him and the team. Big summer ahead.

What a prick. Just beaten one of the best teams in world football, and you behave like that. Fucking hate this side of football. Show some humility ffs.

Htf does he only have 6 pages? No JT, and Howe does not achieve what he has.
-
Villa absolutely nailed their recent recruitment, loans or not. Gaining momentum at the right time as well. Don't think they will bother us but the game at their place could be massive!
-
Poor from Howe if he does drop barnes. Gordon only has himself to blame. Barnes has played well, so you cannot reward that with putting him back on the bench. Gordon has to earn it, most likeky as a sub.

Give Osula a game, he needs minutes before the season is out. Otherwise, a loan for next season. -
Its been mothballed for a couple of seasons anyway.

He can play in any number he likes

Completely agree with this. You look at the value out there, with the right scouting, and we can get a few bery high-potential players and boost the squad depth. I would favour that over 2 or 3 £50M players personally. My only niggle in that is that Howe takes a while to transition new and younger players in, and we need more depth on the bench, but that would not take too long - and when they are integrated they tend to perform very well. The fact we have not spent money or signed anyone for a couple of windows means that Mitchell has really had time to review what we need, and more importantly what is out there. I am hopeful we will pull off a few signings in the Kerkez, Huijsen mould this summer, in terms of what Bournemouth paid for them.

I was with a Liverpool mate last night. Fuck me, if he were not my mate, I would never speak to him again. They are such entitled fuckers. Apparently, the cup means nothing to them. League and CL are more important, and he does not care about the weekend! Fuck off. Seriously, shit like "its only the league cup, we have won it loads of times, it means more to you as you have won nothing for ever" blar blar blar. I know its only a bit of banter, but it's not, they are all fucking like it - and precisely why I hate them more than most other clubs. If they win, they will play it down. If you lose, they will say it did not matter anyway, much like the press. The worst bit is he wants to come and watch it at the pub. No chance.

Whilst the scenes of thousands arriving at Kings Cross and Trafalgar Square were pretty cool last time, it all felt a bit like a big weekend away (which it was). I'm not against that, but we need to focus on the football and support the team, not the occasion. The atmosphere at the last final in our end was nothing special. I was in Club Wembley but walked straight into the toon end and sat there the whole game. It was amazing how many people turned up late!

Well said. We have a very good first 11 (when they are alll fit) and a couple on the bench that merrit their place. Otherwise the squad does not reflect the position we are in. You have to give Howe, his team and the players a lot of credit for that. We have basically performed at a high level for over 2 seasons, with very little investment in the squad for the last 3 windows. I think people forget where we were, and how far we have come. We are asking a lot of these players right now, and we should acknowledge that. Irrespective of the result on Sunday, we have done well to get to another final. Win or lose, it is progress. If the players can somehow get to the end of the season and finish in Europe, that is a massive achievement. Everyone at the club knows we have to invest now, and I just hope that they have some creative ideas in the pipeline as the squad needs a massive refresh and new faces. If we can achieve that, we can really push on.

On a side note, is Eales on the road to recovery and staying? Following his health announcement, I barely heard a word about his replacement search.

Fuck rolling over to this lot. We go into this expecting a heavy defeat, which is what we will get. Not saying we will win, but we should be determined to get a draw at least. That said, I am struggling to understand how we go on a mega run, and then fuck up the last few games. Strange. -
24/25 - 6 (1) 23/24 - 26 (10) 22/23 - 36 (18) Appearances (goals) for us over the last 3 years. That is a year-on-year decline. Even if he manages to play every remaining game this season (16 currently), it would still be his lowest year since joining, and I cannot see him doing it (staying fit). If he can, it would take him to 22 games, and on that basis, I would probably consider a one-year extension, provided we get an RW who can genuinely cover right and hold a line up top if required.
-
Hope that started today, although it will probably have the opposite effect now.
