Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Same. Dying for it. It could give the players a massive lift for Old Trafford too. Nothing motivating about a masdive tranfer budget coming in! Half of the first team will be done. -

He does not really trust any of our forwards IMO. They are simply not vokd enough. Get a top striker and No.10 and I can see ua being more progressive. He is getting the back sorted which has been shocking for years. Solid fiundations and all that. IF, we are bought and he is given money a class striker, no 10 and decent goalie will be high on his list.

Always preferred the Organic model but as everyone else is at it now, why not join them. Does not ensure success but some sensible investment in the squad would hopefully mean some forward thinking momentum! The prospect of a very successful investment professional who knows a think or two about making real money through shrewd investment is pretty appealing.

Fat Controller or semi attractive chick with billions of dodgy Saudi money to spend! Hhhhmmm. Slightly torn on this.

Newcastle United vs. Liverpool - 01/10/17 @ 4.30pm (Sky Sports)

No idea how this one is going, no idea at all. On paper there is only one winner - but we all know they can either be devastating or shite. Best thing about this Liverpool team is their defence - any team can score against them, just not sure it's us. We need a big atmosphere and a few things to go our way today. 6th or 7th is up for grabs. -
Considering the amount of traffic that came his way in the first half (I was sat bang behind him first hald) he did well. Thought overall, we were heavily exposed on the right and Richie seemed to leave a lot of space. He was less convincing one on one of the floor but great in the air.

Jamaal Lascelles (now playing for League One Leicester City)

Certainly got his head well and truly screwed on. Seems very genuine and grounded and not afraid to say his bit. Must be hard for a younger player to command the respect of older players (Ritchie, Shelvey etc) but clearly he does. If he keeps this up and the rest of the younger players follow suit, I think they can all develop a lot more, especially under Rafa. -
Liverpool have an extra 2 (including tonight) before they play us, away the next three games to in a week! Come on!

Unfortunately our best manager in years is paying the price for our terrible management (literally and from above). Assuming we are looking safe and most (if not all) of the deadwood is gone, I can see Rafa being given more money. They just need to stop pissing him around in the mean time with poor decisions and not getting stuff done. Stay up and bank the TV money and I think we can start looking at more exciting investment. If not, without doubt, he is gone (and probably so are we).
-
If he keeps this up there is no way Dummett walks straight back in, left footed or not!
-
Just hope this one game at a time mentality keeps going and the players keep their feet on the ground. Sure Rafa will not have it any other way. This extra time between games must surely help that and our preparation. Not sure Brighton (as yet) have looked particularly threatening. Hopefully a clean sheet and the chance to grab one or two the other end. A positive result here really would make the Liverpool game one to look forward to! Have to say I am really liking the honesty around our current team and the way they are all pulling together.
