He can learn a huge amount under Rafa and will like the cult status he is rapidly developing here. Out of interest, how much do other clubs get for sponsorship within a ground? Times this by 10 and add to that any profit he would have made if he sold the club, its still been a great investment for him (and not for us), not to mention the well claimed benefits for SD (and his increased share value). He could easily walk away from this club £500M up. Even more shocking based on that he refuses to invest another penny.

Its simple for me - if he/we can survive this season and he is given all the TV revenue he will stay. Clearly that's all dependent on us getting through with the players we have got, which I think we can do. I think you have answered the source of your own frustration. They are shit. If we know it, so does everyone else. I mean who signs a striker (for a fee anD wages) that has not managed a tap in in over 690+ days!? We are feeling the pain of our bargain hunting shitty recruitment strategy. It will be the same for 2-3 years IMO. Even the likes of Hanley are not easy to shift due to wages.

Him and hayden should give shelvey a bit of space. Reckon he could be a great buy. Aarons/murphy on one side a richie on the other. Left back and new striker and I think we have more than enough to stay in the league.

This 5 year contract thing has to stop. Its pointless and is hurting us massively IMO. Get them in, prove themselves then replace the initial contract. Players of average quality, as many of these are, will bite your hand off for a 5 year deal knowing they can basically to nothing (or not improve) and they still get paid. Our recruitment over the last few years, aside the obvious winners, has been pretty shocking.
