Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Would that even be legal? Transferring money from the club to other businesses? Yeah - if he started paying back the loan, to himself. It's also what went on at Blackpool - the Oyston family took the TV cash out of the club for tbemselves. -

Aye, according the companies house listing, Sports Direct is a company with 'significant influence' in KBA. SD 51% majority shareholder, IIRC. -

My heart bleeds for him! -
I think South Shields getting into the Conference North, would help the likes of Blyth (certainly when it comes to travelling!) Will have to hope that Morpeth and Marske keep progressing too. Alan Armstrong has built a fairly young side at Blyth, with the exception of the mecurial Robbie Dale. Hopefully the side can and will only get better. Leamington at home, on Saturday. I've got the bairn this weekend - might see if she fancies going again.

Blyth lost £150k last year which was filled by the chairman. The gates are just not high enough to go up- in fact they are towards the bottom of the NLN. There is certainly more the club could do to boost gates, but I always get riled up when the guys who have footed the bill with their own cash are accused of not spending because they are unambitious. Until a lot more people start turning up every week (not just after a couple of good wins or on sunny days) then NLN is as far as the club can go. Agreed that Spartans need more through the gate, but again a bit of ambition may help in that regard, as will a cup run (the club hasn't enjoyed one of them since the run to Round 3 of the FA Cup, 3 years ago) Spartans home games always seem to be on when Newcastle are at home too.

I think Shields have the potential to make a go of getting into the Conference. Spartans ambition seems to be to remain in the Conference North, unfortunately. Seems little intent at boardroom level to push for promotion.

This latest 'story' stinks of Bishop and it's an attempt to take the heat off Ashley - with recent events. Thankfully most of us are savvy enough to see it for what it is and call it out as such. -
Best of luck to Darth and Sush

Reads like the Chron has done a bit of a PR piece for the club. However, supporters can see through the lies now - St James is run down and in need of far more than a lick of paint!
-
Perhaps it's the kick up the arse he needs to sort himself out.

There were suggestion boxes on a few of the tables. It was also possible to send in questions via Twitter.

Is Merlin still around on here? He was involved with the original Magpie Group. Their aim was very different and was built around chasing folk all over the UK/the world, who had shares in NUFC, which allowed Sir John Hall to mount his takeover. I remember Merlin telling me that he did countless miles on the road, with the likes of Malcolm Dix. I'm old enough to remember that time and the 'Sack the Board' protests - as no doubt some others are on here. It was a desperate time, which involved a supporters boycott (Leeds at home in 1989, when Quinn bagged 4) - I went to that game however! Was also involved in a couple of sit down protests in the Gallowgate. Many of us were young and daft at that point, blinded by our love of NUFC. I didn't stop going. However, now I'm older and wiser - and the only time I go to games now, is to support my best mate as he's a disabled season ticket holder. I still feel the pull to go back - none more so at the end of last season, when Rafa has us all feeling optimistic. However, it didn't take Ashley long to burst the bubble. I think protests inevitably have to move inside the ground - with perhaps the targeting of TV games as we move towards Xmas and 2019. As someone said last night - when Rafa leaves next year, NUFC finally dies.

The mackems are struggling to stay relevant at the moment - the hatred of us (by some) is the only thing they have left to hang on to. Is the TF podcast of the meeting due out later in the week?
-
He was fucking crackers!
-
Oh yes now we're talking. I'm there Should move inside the club shop with the protest That was discussed. Problem is that the club would be able to eject protesters, as it's private property, Anything from the road over to the path beside St James' Metro is public ground - NUFC can't do owt about that.
-
I've just checked RTG (as Bingo said) and the mackems really do have a 12 page thread on tonight's meeting! :: Obsessed? Not much!
-
Sorry for dodging out without saying goodbye, Bingo - wor lass rang! :: Great to meet you, as well as Rod, Mark C, Paully, Rich (+brother), Greg and a couple of other lads. Great to put some names to faces. Thought the meeting went really well - everyone who wanted to speak got to - lots of good ideas and some not so, but good all the same. I asked a question and also gave Newcastle Online a bit of a shout out. I will definitely be at the next meeting, though I don't think I can make the protest before the Arsenal game, as that's my weekend with the bairn. Feel energized after tonight, Whilst I can't offer much in the way of tech skills, I can speak and write and I will endeavor to do so. The clock is ticking.... 8 months to save NUFC.
-
Perhaps we could do with an up to date one, KI. I know Greg has ginger hair and a beard?
-
Okay fella, will see you there. Grand.
-
I've not met any of the NO lads in the flesh before! ::
-
Bingo/Rod - I'm not gonna get into town until about 645 (am travelling in from Bedlington) Can loiter outside of the Labour Club for 5mins at about 650pm? I'm easy to spot - big lad with grey/dark hair and a red Star Wars top on!
-
I'll be there. Come and say hello. Will do.
-
Probs gonna be on my tod and just wondered if anyone fancied a bit of company!

Anyone attending on their own tonight?
