Christ. Administration beckons there. How the hell has Gartside allowed that to happen?
  2. I've said it before, but the club has no intention of challenging for the top 6 as things stand. With sensible investment this window (and some luck), it's something we could break into - but I believe that Ashley will be happy enough for us to finish where we are. High enough to say we gave it a reasonable go, but also in no danger of qualifying for Europe. We'll know more about the ambition at the end of this month, as in who comes in but maybe's also - who is sold.
  3. Keeping on hoping. All the best, lads and lasses.

My dad-in-law saw Jackie Milburn play for Newcastle (particularly the cup runs) - still remembers it very well to this day.

Why am I not surprised by that? My old man still speaks very highly of him as a player. Must have been a terrific talent. Marvellous clippings, btw - thanks for sharing.
  6. Thought we gave it a good go today, and am not too disappointed. Debucchy was the best player on the park (by a country mile) and looks every inch Frances's number one right back. We just missed someone up top with the X-Factor today - Ben Arfa try as he might can't change a game all on his own from the bench, against the bigger sides. More quality reinforcements needed, IMO.
  7. Ramsey missing too. Gonna be a helluva game, but am gonna have to Sky+ it as I've got to take the bairn to a birthday party. Never fails that these are organized mainly when Newcastle have a game! No pressure on us, this pm so I hope they go out and give it a shot. No fear.
  8. Mackems behind. Another possible OG.
  9. Been to the Box Office today - me and the dad-in-law are going. Got tickets for the Gallowgate.
  10. Were Stoke one of the clubs that was putting on free bus travel to away games for their supporters? If so - the 600 or so that were there yesterday is poor.
  11. BBC do favour the bigger clubs - it's all about the ratings. It's why Man United cup games always end up 'live' on either BBC/ITV, regardless of who they are playing.
  12. Must admit, I thought he was asleep as well. Owa much brandy.
  13. Newcastle have been on the receiving end often enough of dodgy refereeing down the years. I remember the 4-1 defeat to Derby, back in 92 when Brian Coddington sent off 3 of wor lot. It happens - we benefited today and got something of a get out of free jail card. Did what we had to so now, bring on Arsenal.
  14. Hughton's arse will be twitching now too. Allardyce? Fuck him.
  15. Super win. Thought when Stoke went in front that it was gonna be one of those days - even when Remy missed his pen too. However, the side did what they have to and Ben Arfa, who was simply unplayable in the 2nd half. Gonna be a helluva game on Sunday now!
  16. 2-0 Hull. Meyler. Who was saying Man United were back?

What a tool. Can we not just bin this thread? The lad isn't worth the effort.
  18. Merry Christmas lads and lasses
  19. Even allowing for the conditions, this is a piss poor game.
