That's what really gets me. A football team and its owner should in principle have the same incentives as the fans. Those should be basic fundamentals but have somehow gotten skewed. How on earth can an owner get away with changing the name of a traditional club to 'Tigers' ffs or changing a team's colour from blue to red? Owners should be absolutely terrified of decisions like this. You have to wonder why it isn't in the best interest of Mike Ashley to provide entertaining football and/or strive for success. It's because PL clubs have become the play-things of very rich men, who act on a whim. The government should force through the german model, where no-one person has overall control. However, money and power talk.

No way Benitez would come and work for Ashley. The man has ambition for a start! Garde or Ketsbia maintaining my interest at the moment, after McLaren has seemed to rule himself out.

Have thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon at Blyth, watching a club with ambition, having a real go against a side 6 leagues above them. Wasn't to be for Blyth but they have it their best shot. Puts all at newcastle United to shame. I feel for the 5000 that went down. Piss ripped out of you's again. Still though - Ashley will be happy and I bet carver has just bagged himself the managers job.
