Good news - lets hope the deal and talks are wrapped up quickly.
  2. Gotta go for the win. ITV will be smelling blood again for an upset and to be honest, I'm not sure that Pardew can risk another loss and another early cup exit through picking a vastly weakened side. We are down to the bare bones as it is. That said - I think we'll bow our meekly, whatever side he picks.

FFS. Then we need to ditch our principles and pay the going rate or arrange a short-term stopgap. We cannot afford to leave ourselves short this time. There's Pardew's (and the clubs) excuse in nice and early, when Ba hasn't been replaced by midnight, Jan 31st. Is Kuqi still available?

Sounds like the excuse he will use, but in reality he should have had Ba anywhere but the bench tonight, any manager worth a damn wouldn't have based their entire plan around a player ready to leave any day. Apart from that his head isn't going to be in it. Agreed. As soon as the Chelsea story broke on Sunday, Ba should have been nowhere near the starting XI.
  5. Fellaini was superb tonight, but that is tempered by the fact that he's a cheating, diving bastard. Glad to see that I'm not the only ones with concern about our shape. Something is obviously not working in training and hasn't for a long time. More than 2 years since we last came from behind to win a PL game - 15 months since we last scored from a corner. And for a team that is supposed to spend a large part of training concentrating on nullifying the opposition, we are a bag of shite defensively. It's a relegation fight now and like 4 years ago, I see little heart or desire to try and get out of it. If Debuccy has signed, I'd bet he's insisted on a relegation release clause!
  6. Just back in from the game. We started brightly, but as soon as Everton equalized there was only going to be one winner. You could see any belief drain out of the players. A lack of leadership (on and off the park), totally lost our shape again towards the end. Pardew has to turn this around quickly - it's simply not good enough, but I will say that he is working with his hands tied behind his back (by Ashley) How long will this awful run go on for, before something is done?
  7. If talks have broken down, then he will perhaps be available for Everton on Weds.
  8. Yup - I can't see him starting v Everton. Only way it happens is if the move to Chelsea breaks down.
  9. Would be disappointed to see him go, but would be glad to see the back of his 'circus'.
  10. Good news (if true) and I hope he signs in time for Everton.
  11. Was one of the few plus points tonight. Terrific performance.
  12. Sorry, but that captitulation is sheer Sunday league stuff. 11 goals shipped in two away games and whilst we have shown some character this cannot go on. It's definitely a relegation fight now.
  13. It is suspicious. I bet one of our home games wouldn't get called off it the Metro's were on strike!
