West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Big Geordie replied to Pilko's topic in Football
Llambias is doing nothing more than stirring it again. So blatant, it's untrue. What a horrible bastard of a man. -
He would be a good signing, but it's hardly going to change the chronic lack of pace in the side. Must admit that I'm not overjoyed at us being linked with the likes of Carlton Cole either.

it was already dismantling, hence why keegan skipped out when told he couldn't have oodles more to rebuild. KK went because the club decided to become a PLC and the power would then lie with the suits in London. Hence why Ferdinand was sold ultimately. What? If you knew your toon history, that's what happened back in 96/97 when the club floated itself as a PLC. It was those who took the offer from Spurs on Ferdinand. Do I need to spell it out a bit clearer?

Musings from KK, which get a from me; Speaking in his role as an ESPN pundit, former Magpies boss Kevin Keegan hasn't been shy in criticising those who prompted his 2008 departure from Gallowgate: "You know I don’t like the owner there — I took him to court — but if they’ve played well of course I’ll give them the credit. But I’m not scared to say the best day they’ll have is when he goes because I know that’s true. "It (the Carroll £35m) is not going to be reinvested is it, I think that’s obvious. As a Newcastle fan, if Carroll is the only one you are going to lose you have to be pretty thankful. "There may well be other players going as we speak. I think they’ll sell two more players and then he’ll sell the club. And that’ll be the best day Newcastle fans have, when he sells the club. "I’d love to be able to give Newcastle fans some encouragement but I can’t see it getting any better in the short term. "He (Carroll) was on the fringe when I was there. He was raw. This kid is the best header of the ball I’ve ever seen. That’s his biggest plus point for me. "His minus points have always been there. Can he get his head down? Can someone make him realise that all he has to do is train hard, work hard and be a good pro for 10 years and he’ll be a very rich boy? He needs to get rid of the other stuff.”

Kevin Gameiro - probably just the Geordie Beano picking up on recent internet rumours. Their finger is is no more on the pulse than anyone else. As for Shane Long - a record of 1 in 4 for Reading is worrying if he is going to become our main focal point.

If Jonas could cross a ball without hitting the first man all of the time, he'd be world class.

I used to live a couple of streets away from old Ayresome Park and it wasn't that bad (I was at Teesside Uni for 4 years) Honestly before Robson turned up, you would see more Toon shirts than Boro around the town centre on any given day. I never had any grief down there as a Mag - just my own experience though.

My first ever away game - Blackburn in 1990, which we won courtesy of a Liam O'Brien last minute winner. I also enjoyed the trip to Juventus, even though we lost 2-0. Was a good couple of days with Keith Barrett's lot.

Notts County away in 1991. Travelled down on the old Jordan's supporters bus, from Bedlington which broke down at Wetherby. Stuck there for 2 bloody hours until another bus came to pick us up and seeing as it was too late to head down, we were taken straight back home. Think the lads got battered 3-0 that day too. I also remember Hull away the same year (travelled down on the Armstrong Galley's bus) - we lost 2-1 and I remember giving Iain Hesford (ex mackem) in the Hull goal a shit load of stick. Boothferry Park was a real dump.
