  1. Corner to Leeds - put behind by Enrique. Carroll clears....
  2. Shola with a shot from way-out. Easy save for Higgs.
  3. Mick Lowes singing the praises of Fabien Delph. Bassong goes to sleep, and Beckford blazes over from a tight angle.
  4. Higgs saves from Ryan Taylor - corner to us.
  5. Radio Newcastle reckon about 10-12000. Becchio just had a good effort - didn't miss far post by much.
  6. Think Radio Newcastle aren't allowed to stream our games online. Available on 95.4 for those who are local. No pace again up front today and Ryan Taylor ahead of Lua-Lua /o\
  7. Anyone seen today's edition? It's too long to cut and paste, but here's the link; http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/north-east-news/todays-evening-chronicle/2009/07/29/calls-for-mike-ashley-to-show-some-honesty-72703-24268154/ A case of better late than never, but this should have been said months ago instead of pandering to the club (for quotes) in the mean time. I don't expect a response from Ashley as when he has gone on like he has since he bought the club, why would he bother?
  8. Groo - Ashley doesn't have to sell though, if this other option is available to him. By selling, he'd be giving the club a chance this season and turning it around. By running it into the ground, he'd all but be twisting the knife one final time.
  9. We would be left with a team of youngsters (much like Southampton last season) and would then have to rely on out-of-contract players and loan signings. We would barely be able to put a team together, assuming Ashley asset strips first or any potential administrator does it later.
  10. As Ashley would be the major creditor, administration would seem an odd move financially. But Ashley could probably take his losses at Newcastle, which would be close to £250m, and set them against profit at his other companies, such as Sports Direct. Ashleys tax liability would then be reduced and his loss not so great. Oh. s***. Can he actually use tax losses from one company to offset against profits from a totally different company? I 'think' a certain chairman of a club based in Teesside did something similar with that club and his own haulage business. Used one to offset the other, allegedly. I wonder if those who were shouting so loudly a few weeks ago that administration was never going to happen are still confident now? Should it happen, I've no doubt there will be an almighty scramble to buy NUFC at a greatly reduced price, but the damage that has happened from this will take years, if not decades to repair. May well open the way for the NUST to become involved along with a consortium which has been mooted of recent.
  11. I know it's probably just tittle-tattle, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's actually true.
  12. Great night tonight - good game and also raising plenty cash for a worthy cause. SBR total legend and always will be.
  13. 6-1?! Jesus. Disgraceful - pre-season game or not. The shape of things to come for this season, amigos.
  14. The club probably don't want to pay for the extra stewards/police.
  15. Not painting SAFC in a good light. Is this one going to slip under the mainstream media radar?
  16. There's no way on earth Shearer will touch this job if Ashley has asset stripped the playing staff. He'd be setting himself up as the fall guy. He wants the job, but he also wants a fighting chance at promotion. Not to see the final death throes of this football club.
  17. I am staggered to understand how anyone can think this, I hate Ashley as much as anyone but FFS get a grip Explain to me the reasons behind the decisions that a so-called successful businessman has taken with regards to the club, and then tell me why it's implausible?
  18. Of course, afar - but that's in an ideal world.
  19. They may be appear to be powerless but they can put the club under pressure, I've not heard a single word from them about the fiasco at all. What pressure can they actually put on though? They can voice their concerns, they can make threats that they will act if they see evidence of Ashley intentially damaging the club. They can act, even if it's just a fine, under "best interests of the game" umbrella. Right now they are just standing by and letting it happen, if he goes into full asset stripping mode which NUFC.com are alluding too and they don't act then they are not doing their job as administers of the game. We are not talking about a small little club here, this is a big club with a huge fanbase and a proud tradition, if you think the FA's role is not to ensure they do everything they can to save clubs like that (because make no mistake about it, administration is just around the corner if this continues) then you've got a perverted sense of what a footballing authority should do. We are talking about the FA and FL here. Whether they can step in or apply pressure or not isn't the issue. They won't until the club is in administration and even then it'll be to kick us in the teeth with a points deduction. Other clubs (smaller ones) have been through similar stuff and the powers that be did nothing. They will not make an exception for Newcastle United.
  20. They may be appear to be powerless but they can put the club under pressure, I've not heard a single word from them about the fiasco at all. What pressure can they actually put on though?
  21. The FA or rather the Football League will be powerless here. The only time they will intervene is to dock points if he puts us in administation.
  22. If the asset stripping does happen, then any proceeds will head straight into Ashley's back pocket and not into the club.
  23. How come it's being classed as affray, rather than as an assault?
