  1. What a tremendous thought - The Fat Freddy Out Campaign, officially endorsed by Newcastle United Football Club plc. http://www.linuxmafia.com/~rick/pictures/inigo.jpeg Official? You keep using that word. But I do not think it means what you think it means.
  2. All publicity is good publicity, right. Seriously, though JH is right. Club crests and official photies are a no no. The bugger will have you by the balls.
  3. All publicity is good publicity, right.
  4. Good luck. I think you will find a lot of support for it as long as you don't go overboard. I don't hate Shepherd but he needs to buck up his ideas, or moves on. Either way it seems that a kick in the knackers is needed to get anything happening, and this campaign can only help. Oh, one last idea. If you can collect a list of simplified (but as accurate as possible) criticisms of his regime and leave the option open for Shepherd to get in touch and respond to peoples concerns then that could be a win win page for not a lot of effort. Ask him to address the fans, stick a timer up, and make him look like he doesn't care about talking to the Geordie nation [sic]. Ok, maybe a bollox idea. bluewink.gif But if nothing else, it would be a useful little resource, and a crib sheet that the papers and radio programmes could easily use for articles or in phone-ins.
  5. True, true. But the charisma can be added in the articles and emails and maybe even have a tounge in cheek gallery for some of the serious or not so serious banners and posters popping up. Oh try and get that fella doing cost price 'Shepherd out' T-shirts on board, or at least link to his auction in the news section. Give elbee909 a shout too. He did a cracking site for the Hitzfeld campaign so with that experience he might have some good tips on what to include or avoid. Good work so far though. bluebiggrin.gif
  6. Simple and not too showy, but probably best not to call him a 'fat man' and keep it professional if you want the media to take it seriously. Might be good to have a readers emails/articles area, and don't forget to have a links page on the menu. A lot of good resources are out there that need to be linked to like Macbeths site, NUFC finances, as well as all the forums who are happy to be linked to the campaign.
  7. "And although McDermott has experience from working alongside Kevin Keegan and Kenny Dalglish, United are thin on the ground compared to Bolton's huge quota of 27 members of their technical staff at the Reebok Stadium." What a delightful paragraph from todays ronnie gill.
  8. Waddle is a mackem! I'm not sure what kind of reception he'd get either. He is totally unproven in the Premiership and was terrible at Burnley. He makes for a deeply insightful pundit on the radio too. bluedead.gif
  9. Or nobody else wanted the job knowing that if he got off to a bad start the crowd would want him sacked. Have you ever thought that could be the reason we ended up with the likes of Sounees and Roeder as our manager It's the supporters fault. It's always the supporters fault. blueyes.gif
  10. No offence but nothing you say or do will get FS to sell up or get FS to step down as chairman. The reason i think KR is taking the piss as you have put it is because the campaign could back fire and just make Newcastle fans more of a laughing stock. You have to be kidding me. Were Villa fans seen as a laughing stock for often publically sticking it to their chairman? Fine, don't get involved yourself, but having a go at people at least trying to make the issue more public, and airing concerns most would agree with, is pretty fucking petty in my eyes. Surely such sniping and infighting also does little to improve this 'image' you are so concerned about, no? It may not bring him down just like that, but why take the piss out of a small step which may just snowball (mixed-metaphor-tastic ). Where is the fucking harm? First of all i aint arguing or sniping anyone as you have put it, I havent come on here slating anyone or abusing anyone so dont come on here and have a dig at me. I was just stating that if fans did make a campaign it could back-fire. Do you think Ellis sold Villa because the fans put a banner up? No, I agree, but that is not the point you were making. I'm not saying that I feel that such a campaign would have much of an impact, far from it, but as I said before neither did such attempts turn Villa supporters into a laughing stock or 'backfire' as you put it. Because of that, I cannot really see any reason to have a go at fellow supporters (or justify having a go at fellow supporters) who have every right to get their concerns about the club more widely recognised.

  12. So is Martins not young or ambitious? ZING!
  13. Good God! I thought you were joking in your other posts. What on earth in Roeder's career gives you any basis for that belief?
  14. Fine, I'll stop. Bah, I was only trying not to add to the sidetracking of this thread, and now look at the mess that's been made. /shakes head disapprovingly. //puts away hoover.
  15. Nobody has said that he cannot be a good coach, just that he lacks the experience to be one now. I see Roeder himself says today, '...three or four years down the line I believe he will be looked upon as a top coach'. Well that's great, I hope it happens, but surely at our club we should be giving such an important role to someone already proven, not someone who may or may not be four years down the road.
  16. It is a joke. He has to lift players, coach them to a position where they can move up to the first team squad, decide the future of players at the end of the season whether they stay or go, and decide with Roeder the timing of players deemed ready to move up to the first team. At a club our size, with the importance of the position, it would be absurd for someone as inexperienced in coaching, handling and judging players as Lee Clark to be given the job. I don't think the Chairman is even bothered now, just keep the club alive until he gets his £100 million valuation. If memory serves me correctly, he's been coaching a local kids team since he was first with us. I remember reading about it in the old Black & White mag, forget which issue though (it was 10+ years ago). That doesn't mean I think he is qualified to do the job, but he has got experience No, I understand that. I think I meant to say 'at the highest levels', but I am happy to concede he does have experience. Whether some of the older players would respect that experience might be an interesting question though.
  17. Glenn Roeder: 'This is a good appointment for Newcastle because Lee is a bright young coach with a good future in the game.' Meh.
  18. Well that's just great that is. Glad we are finally going places again.

  20. Now I'm a bit hung over but are they saying that this restructuring was planned, and that the club was always going to be left with the three amigos heading all first team and reserve posts... ...or is this actually just a veiled statement telling us that Craig was indeed upset by promises made or hinted at after Souness left, and has walked? /oooh me head. bluedead.gif
  21. Nope, you're spot on. Not quite sure how that slipped my mind. blueyes.gif /alchohol damage no doubt. bluedead.gif
  22. Well it certainly went against his reportedly strict criteria. He didn't even scout the lad once in person to my knowledge, nevermind the numerous time he took over another foraign import namely Kuyt. Nevertheless, I cannot see much point being overly critical, just as I cannot see much point in those who are being overly protective of the lad.
