  1. What we all feared would happen has happened, Ashley has realised that with some minor investment he can guarantee passage back to the Premiership at minimal cost, meaning any offer for the club now pales in comparison to an offer next year when we're back in the Premiership. I know people are worried about what happens when we get there, we've got Hughton for the first year, but tbh, we would have him on the wage bill anyway as a coach. Hughton isn't actually getting any more money, he's getting the same or to be compensated his original contract if sacked as manager. Ashley refused the £60+£20m offer because he knows that extra £20m at the end of the season spent now turns us in to division champions with a bit of brains, and turns us back in to a premier club and the reset button pressed. Next year doesn't matter to Ashley in terms of what could happen as he'll be selling the club as quickly as he can, a club totally stripped down in terms of wages and players, a strong 40k crowd in a lesser division only to be bettered back in the Prem, a one with a relatively low overdraft compared to the division, and one churning in money from new long term sponsors including naming rights for the ground, all this equals an excellent position for a new owner to come in and buy us. It's just like buying a run down house and doing it up with stuff from no frills to sell on later, that's really all we are to Ashley. I do not expect us to be sold in the public realm, next time it will be private, the deal will be done quickly and he will be gone, i expect him touting the club about to potential owners (who will probably be different to the ones we had at the final hurdle this time, probably ones who were interested but there was too much uncertainty or didn't find the club glamorous enough to be a big boys toy (ie rich Arabs)) as soon as we secure promotion and pass off any leaks as rumours. This new news is only delaying the inevitable, Ashley will leave, just it's going to take longer than we all hoped and it will mean he'll get his money back, or more of it, £20m is a lot of money in this division, not all of it will be spent on players but even £5-10m would improve the team no end and get us firing again. Players on big wages will leave as well, replaced hopefully with better more marketable players, I know everyone is thinking none of it will be spent on players and i can totally understand this reasoning but Ashley would be throwing £20m down the drain if he doesn't, and we know he was putting £20m in a year of his own money to keep the club afloat, but it doesn't take £20m to see us through to the summer, if so creditors would be knocking on the door right now wanting some kind of security from Ashley, and we'd have known about it. Ashley has to now run us like a normal football club until the summer to make lots of money, it's that simple, i think even he gets it and why he's been rejecting the bids as the season has gone on. It doesn't take a genius to see were begging for some fresh legs, and even on the ones we've got were still a force in this division and will be near the top even with all this drama going on. I've no doubt if we'd been lingering bottom mid table (which tbf could have easily happened with some of our performances) Ashley would have sold to Moat and this would all be over, he's that reactionary, but looks like were stuck with him and its down to our decent start, but don't fear it won't last forever, he's just wised up a bit, and seen an easy option to get his money back, and we'd all had done the same...in fact we all thought he should have done it like that to start with.
  2. Been thinking that for a while. But I've been also thinking that was the lowest it got, I now think this is the lowest it gets... Rock bottom feels like it arrived several months ago but Ashley seems to find us a new level at every soul destroying decision he makes.
  3. Guess you've been practising
  4. The Kevin Keegan is spending his payoff as a big fuk you Ashley park.
  5. More fool those who want to drag their name and reputation through the mud by being associated with this mess, that goes for shirt sponsor as well.
  6. Pepsi Park playing in the Coca Cola Championship forever.
  7. Poor Phil. If the BNP ever get in power he's the first on the cattle truck. Don't say that, half the Country will vote for them just to get rid of him.
  8. monday or thursday (play arsenal away in carling cup) Jesus those arnt 2 fixtures you want after 4 defeats in a row. The cunts will somehow win them both. Cunts.
  9. Strachen comes out with some gems, would be glad to have him back in English football, shame it will be with them. Think it was when he was Soton Manager and PPV matches had just started and he apologised to the fans who'd paid money to watch his team against Bolton.

    Nile Ranger

Would like to see Loven play more, his pace is electric and can kill teams. We've not used him at all this season, hopefully more of him to come. Harewood is tricky, I thought he'd have more impact at this level, utter garbage in the prem but thought he'd be good enough for us at this moment in time, ideal stand in for Ameobi but it just isn't happening now, and if reports are true the fans have already turned on him and he's on a hiding to nothing. I just hope we haven't paid a loan fee. I've not been to as many games as some... but for me, i've never heard a player (of our own) so roundly booed and jeered by our own fans so vigourously as today with Harewood. It was massive. Crackers. Must have been a really shite performance to warrant that, though i doubt he did, he's just an easy target of frustration. No doubt he's gone, may even end the loan deal early if we haven't paid a fee as i doubt his head or heart is in it now.

  12. The style and standard of our play has little to do with the back 4 tbh. It forces us to score more than 1 goal, which I was amazed we managed today. Eh? I'm saying the fact that we are toothless up front & hopeless in possession isn't really down to the back 4. And? I'm saying that without Taylor and Coloccini at the back I don't have any faith in us to win many football matches with our woeful attack. Which is why I'm bloody grateful they're nearly back. Fair point. The squad isnt strong enough and I am sure we knew that before the season started. Today the spine of the team was missing. Taylor, Collocini, Smith and Shola do make a difference but we need to worry about the january window as much as injuries. you've spent the last 10 minutes becoming an absolute legend in my eyes sir Does he rank alongside Bramble now?

    RIP sale thread.

    Another one bites the dust...
  14. Not as embarrassing as some levels of protection given to Argie centre-halfs, like. Given how useless we've been without him, I feel completely vindicated in my defence of the lad. Down to Taylor more than Colo. Course it is. You going to tell me it''s down to Colo's unique style of passing bullshit again?

  16. Fuk off man, where are they supposed to start, at the top? What's embarrassing is you attacking the lad for a dodgy performance in a shite team, playing shite football, with a shite manager and huge pressure and expectations from the fans in what's his first handful of appearances at this level. Disgusting tbh. Spot on AND 2 dodgy moments really, not a dodgy performance, putting him down is crazy like. What is he 18? Spend last season with a broken leg for 6 months, i think its fuking fab he's on the pitch playing, getting flak off cunts 10 years in the game and useless as fuk such as Harewood is disgusting behaviour as well.

  19. You say this but if we don't start improving quick, were going to not be as lucky today and we'll lose more than we win. Evey game is different man, we won thats ALL that matters in the end. I agree we need to improve but that will come with the return of Colo & Tqaylor and Hughton seeing Ranger has to start. Let's hope we get our players back and dont lose anymore, and yeah, lets hope CH can realise Harewood hasn't worked and has the balls to bench him now and go with Ranger.
  20. Harewood hasn't worked, let's see if CH has the balls to bench him now and go with Ranger, would be a sign he is a manager rather than just a coach.
