I'd say Harper's 80% of Given across the board, meaning it wouldn't be a tragedy if Given did leave in the window and wasn't replaced until the summer as long as the back 4 remain tight...hoping Liverpool was a one off rather than what's to come (but again for me the soft mid was to blame more than anything else)

You should expect grief for the banner since there's a split whether it should be there or not, and you should be able to hold your temper when approached by people, swearing and insulting, you've got to do it. If you get banned for life (and probably rightly so for a violent act in a football stadium) then you've only got yourself to blame, but the last thing the club needs is to lose a seasoned fan in the stands no matter what their opinion is.

if we get rid of both given and owen this month then we're going down. Na, not imo. Harper is about 80% as good as Given in all areas, that will do till end of season. Owen's not created a goal for several seasons, misses a hat full when he gets the opportunity, and wouldn't be missed if we shopped well.

We should tell Citeh that Given is for sale only if they take Owen for a good price as well. £19m for both, in two years both players will be worth next to nothing, last time to get good money out of them, and Citeh being the only team with unlimited money and in need of star players.

I'd also take this £9m for Owen banded about and anything over £10m for Given, while selling Zoggy for £8m+ Shame it leaves us with Duff, Viduka, Butt & Cacapa oh and Ameobi, all which need selling as well. Just get rid of the lot and start again.

Cheapos can reinforce the squad, but they can rarely replace the club's crown jewels, particularly Dyer (when fit), Owen and Given. Dyer was never fit, and was never a jewel.

And yet the 3 that have actually left none of them were doing much good for the club. Bassong was cheap, and i'd rather have Jonas than Milner, Dyer & Solano back at the club.

Because physically they've less to do (last longer in terms of age) and mentally a lot of work and experience to take in (only comes with age).

Why is he a great keeper if he has many flaws & faults? You saying he hasn't? No but I would never call someone great with many flaws & faults. Just so you know, I only really worry about the shots & headers being stopped. He had that phase when long shots were flying past him but I think we over that happening as regularly as last season. Shearer was a great striker but he had flaws and faults. Gazza was a great footballer but had his flaws and faults.
