The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]

I wonder how much Sylvan Ebanks-Blake would cost from Wolves? Good all round striker, pacy and strong as well. -
Nail on head. A poor captain who is 90% cert to leave within 6 months is hardly the kind of person you want keeping the players together during a relegation battle.
-
No ones putting it all on his toes. The biggest wankers as you like to put it are the ones who clear KK of any blame whatsoever.
-
Could have went in the protest thread
-
My interest in the club is at an all time low, and like Tooj says; football in general.
-
TBH, mate, that's a good analagy It really isn't.

Get rid. Hope today's results stings Ashley in his anus.

He's better than what we've got. You are banging on about crossing, but for fuk sake, you seen the crosses we produce ATM? Shocking and useless is an understatement. Pennant would be no worse, in fact i think he's a lot better than Duff & Zoggy at crossing, and if Zoggy is off, Jonas on his natural left and Pennant on the right is great balance for me. -

Fuking ridiculous were not going for Pennant. Jonas on the left and Pennant on the right would be pretty impressive stuff. -
Bravery 1. Better 1st touch than Martins but not Stephen Carr.

Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has stated that the Serie A giants would not be tempted to sell Alessandro Del Piero for £100million. Cobolli Gigli's comments follow Manchester City's interest in AC Milan star Kaka, with reports suggesting a deal in excess of £100million could be in the offing. Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has also been linked with City in the past, but Cobolli Gigli is adamant Juve will not lose any of their star personnel. "We have never received any offer for Buffon," said Cobolli Gigli. "As for Del Piero, he is the star and central column of Juve and would not be remotely interested in leaving Turin. "No, we would not sell him, not even for £100m. These figures, especially at this moment when the world and football should be reconsidering its finances, are just illogical." Fuking nutter. Massive Del Boy fan, but if Juve got a £10m bid they'd be mad to turn it down.

Like it matters. Send him back then, along with all the other supposed hot prospects?

6ft 2" with some weight behind him.

Vuckic is such a world class footballers name.

Like Baggio think this deserves a thread of its own. Nice to see were beating AC Milan to youngsters now.

Magpies sign Slovenian starlet http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4803772,00.html Vuckic joins from NK Domzale Skysports.com understands Newcastle United have won the race to sign highly-rated Slovenian youngster Haris Vuckic from NK Domzale. The gifted teenager is regarded as one of Europe's brightest talents, and reports suggest he underwent a recent trial at AC Milan. But Newcastle have secured his signature, with attacking midfielder Vuckic penning a three-and-a-half-year deal at St James' Park. The capture demonstrates the Magpies' growing policy of scouring and landing up and coming talent.

At least then he's accountable and sackable, because right now, none of this is his fault in the eyes of the board, but as a contracted manager he's going to be held accountable for a lot more of his decisions and most certainly his results.
-
Clube Atletico do Porto according to that Sky Sports article. You added him to the toon squad yet? Also what happened to Aaron Spear?
-
So exactly where have we signed him from? What club did he play for? Is he direct from Brazil?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St%C3%A9phane_M%27Bia English side Newcastle United were also reportedly interested in signing Mbia in August 2008, but were also unable to sign the midfielder.[2] In September 2008 Mbia reportedly pleaded with his club to allow him to leave in the 2009 January transfer window, as he wished to move to Newcastle.[3] On January 14th 2009, Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear revealed the club had made £4m bids for two players, once of which is thought to be Mbia. On January 15th 2009, Joe Kinnear admits Newcastle had made a £5 million bid for the player, only a day after Newcastle were knocked out of the FA Cup of Hull City at home. Kinnear offerered two Granny Smith apples, a bag of marbles and a boomarang but was declined as Mbias agent is looking for a "bag of apples" -

If we want M'Bia we will have to combine the bids i think. Maybe not. Maybe £5m hard cash is enough. Its a lot of money in this current climate. Hope so not to sure if they are struggling for cash like. There not the biggest club in France so maybe. I ain't got a clue either, only the UK is feeling the crunch, and France was feeling it years before the UK when there wasn't even one. So guessing the financial climate in France aint too sunny either. -
