Harper's played bench boy all his life, nothing has changed. According to reports he did want to go though didn't he?, certainly could have been bollocks but to be honest at 33 I'd be surprised if he hadn't finally decided he needs first team Football. Why now of all times? He should have done it years ago. Right now signing a new contract is the best thing he can do with the uncertainty of Given's future, doesn't mean its a done deal that Given is going. Hughes has been a gob shite all the way through the window, saying who he's going for, he's not said too much on Given, and in his last interview again said nothing. I'm hoping silence is golden...i'm trying to be positive because if it does go through its going to sting a bit, for everyone toon fan.

Harper signing a new contract does suggest its a done deal. Why? Surely the club would want to retain both. Buying a new keeper would suggest a 'done deal', not signing on a player who's been here since 1993.

Given, Beye, Colo, Shirly Bassy & Jose are good enough for a top 8 team, its very much let down by the soft centre in the middle of the park. A brave and wise man would put Colo in Butt's position, think Colo is weak in the air for a central defender but not for a DMC, in fact he's got the right tools for the job. Even with out of form Taylor back in there at CB with COlo in front of him we'd be a better team defensively.

Probably the most pointless thread in history, who isn't going to vote 'Harper Starts, Krul on bench'

So left footed Frenchman in, right footed ones fuk off?

I get where you are coming from about the hyped up label given to Viana, but seriously this lad is a fantastic player. He's ideal for the Prem, he'd walk in to the Arsenal mid (infact i couldn't think of anyone better for them) and should be going higher than Bolton, or Citeh for that matter.
-
Totally different kind of player. Viana failed due to his physical attributes and not being mentally strong enough. If you knew anything about the player (including positions and styles) you'd understand why your comments show you haven't got the foggiest.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4855505,00.html Gary Megson has confirmed Bolton have opened talks with Sporting Lisbon with regards to a move for midfielder Miguel Veloso. The 22-year-old Portugal international is rated as one of Europe's top young talents but Megson is hopeful of luring him to the The Reebok in a big money deal. Reports have suggested the fee would be in the region of £12million, which, if the transfer were to come off, would break the £8million club record Megson paid for Johan Elmander in the summer. "It is something we are trying to do but whether it comes to fruition is another thing," said Megson. "It is difficult talking about someone else's player but he is a quality act and if we can do it we will try to bring him in. "We are interested in the lad and I'm sure other people will be as well. "We have spoken to them (Sporting) but that is all it is." Board's backing Megson admitted that some people may be surprised at Bolton being in the market for a £12million player but said the funds were there if they could find the right target. "He certainly is [expensive] but that is not the issue," he added. "If we can take the right player to Eddie Davies (the club's owner) there has never been an amount of money that he hasn't given us. "If it is a player we think will improve us and it is do-able we will try to do it. "We would like to bring in quality players but if they are not quality players we won't do it for the sake of it." Bolton may have their work cut out, however, as at the weekend Veloso stressed he did not want to leave the club. That better not happen. Hugo Viana comes to mind...... It would if you didn't have a first clue. Citeh now in for him.

We've had some rotten luck with the French. We've had the same with Spanish, i've said before, i wish we'd never buy Spanish again after Luque, i stand by that. The French should work out better here, but they don't. Think from now on with should buy Scandinavian, German & Eastern Block (Russian, Ukraine etc..) ...they have the right mental attitude, are big, strong and don't give a fuk about the weather, exact opposite of what comes out of Spain these days.

Not for majority share holding. Looks like Gillette wants out. -
Barnes is a cracking player, better than most of our mid, dogged with injury in the last year or so, hope he can get back on track.
-
People who want tickets. It's just another way of fleecing loyal fans to make money on the cheap. Yeah i guessed, i was just thinking about the down turn in people wanting tickets. (backfire......Booowfff)

You rest your case? Fuking hell, amateur LA Law here like? Lol that as it may. You can't possibly rate Wise over Keegan, no one would/should. I can't remember me saying i do, you are arguing points that have never existed.

No, and hasn't since last March/April.

There's always hope, man. I can't see any, at all. I'm playing the waiting game, wait to see us relegated and become another Leicester City.

but not quite as gobby as you, young man. From a man who likes it in the gob.

There really is no hope is there? (both now or the future)

He's much better than Smith & Ameobi put together while Xisco has never had the chance so cannot possibly comment. Bendtner is doing well at Arsenal, not a bad record since he's come off the bench a lot and is really a support striker, and a canny NT record. Think he's be perfect foil for Martins or any pacey striker. -
