  1. It was really to save the SJP pitch though, nothing more than that, nothing to do with him not being arsed about the youth team, just he needed all the help he could get and SJP looked like something out of WWI and the FA were making us play a further 3 games at home for the youth team on it. How i remember it anyway.
  2. That's one of the worst yet. Christ, will it ever stop? It really is unbelievable. I was just reading that from newsnow and came in here to post it. What a cunt, come on Boro FFS, what a wanker, hope he gets ran over or contracts some nasty tropical disease that makes his balls burst open.
  3. Zola would be immense for that reason, but like already said, its a shame he's not coaching simply in terms of the talent he had. I wonder how hard it will be for him to persuade players to come here when they realise he's not actually going to be involved in their development apart from snaring them and bringing them to the club?

    Shearer turns us down

Shearer Explains Keegan Snub http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=571593 The reason why Alan Shearer turned down the chance to become Kevin Keegan's assistant at Newcastle United was his love of the club. Shearer felt it was best for the Magpies at this time to leave the bridge clear for Keegan to steer the ship. Alan Shearer admits he thought long and hard about if and how he could help Kevin Keegan at Newcastle. But he eventually decided that another "dominant personality" is not what the Magpies need at the moment. And since the ex-Newcastle and England skipper spent time in talks with Keegan, fellow former international Dennis Wise has arrived at St James' Park as part of the management team ostensibly assisting Keegan. Shearer told The Sun: "I have not snubbed anyone or anything like that. I chatted to Kevin for four hours at my house first time. Then we had another long meeting on Monday. "Throughout the talks, all I was thinking about was what would be best for Newcastle - not what would be best for me. "This club has given me too much for me to turn my back at a time when I might be able to help. But I don't think I would be a help right now - and I have explained that to Kevin. "He basically told me I could come in as his assistant or in any role I wanted, but the timing is just not right." Shearer understands that his own status as a Tyneside icon could begin to hinder rather than help Keegan. "Right now I think the last thing they would need is another dominant personality, another name," he reasons. "It needs one personality driving things forward at the club - and that is Kevin Keegan. It needs to be his way, and if it is I think he can turn things round. Myself and Kevin were just too similar personalities - we are both opinionated. "We are both single-minded and have our ideas about how things should be done. That is not the best mix - you need to be different. So for plenty of reasons, I had to say no. "I'm not saying the door is closed for ever. Just right now there is plenty to be sorted out there - and one man needs to do it and do it his way. "All the time I will remain a fan of my club, but for now that is all."
  6. Read the thread. All 21 pages, or could you not just fuking tell him like? Just reading this page and you should realise that it has gone totally off the topic of Fabio Zamblera. I should of guessed really, nut I sorted of subconsciously skip through it and don't read it anymore

  8. Pretty fair synopsis IMO. Who voted "I was happy, now I wonder" based on the last few weeks then? I would suggest a long, well thought out word with yourself if that's how you voted tbh. that's how i voted. nowt to do with the last few weeks tho. more to do with the fact that the initial reaction was ambivalent, both excitement and dread. at the time the buzz of the place and excitement was at the forefront and the reservations pushed to the back of my mind as i enjoyed the whole thing. a few days later when the frenzy died down is when you begin to wonder. Its why i voted for that option, nowt to do with i think after the games so far its going to go tits up or something, i actually think there were some great spells in the Arsenal games and Bolton were just cocks begging to be relegated. But i was in the pub at the time KK was appointed, i went mental, hammered a few vodka redbulls went home, hammered a few cans, celebrated and generally got swept up in the whole thing. That's died off now, and now i'm looking at things with a bit more realism, glad you put your view up first, i thought about it but couldn't be arsed with the stick of having an opinion that doesn't go with the grain.
  9. Massive task ahead of him, i just hope he has the bottle and the quality to pull it off. Unhappy he and the club were not capable of brining in any 1st team players in the window, you can throw as many excuses on the floor for them to walk on, but fact is, it wasn't good enough. Got my backing for the foreseeable.
  10. Reindeer, mash potatoes and wild berries, fuking gorgeous.
  11. fookin hell leave it till the last minute and its too late then more than likely loose him in the summer well done mort . sorry getting angry now s*** timing I totally agree willow, why couldnt we have struck up a deal last week or earlier for this player, same with Giles Barnes, and Alvaro, what is an extra couple of million to a billionaire? fair enough he might have put £250m into the debts and the club but if he wants success he must know that we need players I'm inclined to doubt that he became a billionaire by throwing the odd million here and there at random things that he may not have needed. TBH I reckon if we actually wanted this lad and have made a botch of it in the way it would seem we have then I'm not overly impressed with Mort and Co. either. I just really can't stand the "Ah sure we're loaded, may as well throw it around for the laugh" attitude that some people seem to be adopting. It's just frustrating we get a billionaire owner and yet are unable to find the cash or players to get the club going. Its just our luck really.
  12. That's the deal, we loan you Rozy for nowt, but you get Dabo to drop the charges and leave the Country and never come back. So what do they get out of it? A free loan of a player, at that level loans usually cost a fee.

  14. Newcastle have announced nothing will be done last minute.
  15. Give it a rest mate. Only 3 more hours to go, then 2 days straight of anger, swear words and frustration, then finally acceptance and hope for the summer. In the mean time...
  16. Spiffing, well done the toon.
